UFC 88 Breakthrough Predictions
This event has an under card which can make for a great event. The fact that Chuck Liddell was given another fighter he is supposed to walk through, doesn't make much for a main event, but remember last time Chuck was supposed to walk through an opponent with ease.
Tim Boetsch versus Michael Patt
Michael Patt, by decision. Tim Boetsch just isn't that impressive, and Michael Patt has a decent submission game.

Jason Lambert versus Jason MacDonald
Jason MacDonald, by submission. Jason MacDonald had Maia in some pretty tough situations in their fight, and I believe that his ground game is going to be greatly respected after that fight. Well this fight will be another to show off that ground ability.
Roan Carneiro versus Ryo Chonan
Ryo Chonan, by Decision. Ryo will grind out a tough ground fight which will leave us happy to have missed it.
Dong Hyun Kim versus Matt Brown
Dong Hyun Kim, by TKO. Matt Brown's stand up game really hasn't played out like they seemed to want it to on the Ultimate Fighter. The fights I have seen of Matt his stand up looked like a guy who hits hard, but really needs work. Dong Hyun Kim has better striking, and that's where I see this fight ending.
Thiago Tavares versus Kurt Pellegrino
Thiago Tavares, by decision. Thiago will just simply outwork Kurt in this one, and win a hard fought decision.
Martin Kampmann versus Nate Marquardt
Nate Marquardt, by submission. Nate's ground game is just too good. He can tap just about anyone. I have been known for not giving Nate his props, but I have changed that now, and realized that he does have what it takes.
Dan Henderson versus Rousimar Palhares
Dan Henderson, by KO. Henderson's wrestling ability is too good to be taken down in this fight. Which leaves Palhares standing with a guy that hits like he has bricks in his gloves...Palhares is taking a nap.
Karo Parisyan versus Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Karo Parisyan, by decision. Karo comes in, does an interesting judo throw, which will get the excitement of the fight up for a little while, but then you watch him grind out a boring decision, while Rogan and Goldie try to remind you so many times of the judo throw.
Rich Franklin versus Matt Hamill
Rich Franklin, by decision. Both fighters are great, but Franklin is just more rounded, and I don't see this fight ending in any way other than decision, so I have to give it to the more well rounded of the two.
Chuck Liddell versus Rashad Evans
Chuck Liddell, by TKO. Rashad Evans doesn't have the hands to get past Chuck, he doesn't have the ability to take him down either. Dana may have been able to pull off hand feeding Chuck the young up and comer that has an impressive record, but is just outclassed...therefore making his wonder-boy look good, and get him a title shot.
