Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire: Players To Cut from Your Fantasy Team
In fantasy football, it is so easy to get attached to a player, whether he helped you previously win a league title, heโs currently pushing your team to the playoffs or is just somebody you always like having.
However, getting attached to anybody can be dangerous and can negatively affect your team.
One guy that stands out above the rest in this category is New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker. Yeah, the last three years Welker put up ridiculous numbers, including 123 catches last year. However, things have changed quickly and Welker no longer puts up the numbers you need.

The NFL is often referred to as a โWhat have you done for me lately?โ league, and fantasy football is no different.
Continue reading on for a writeup on Welker as well as some other big names who made our Week 9 Fantasy Football Waiver WireโCut Them Loose.
Brett Favre (Minnesota Vikings)
Itโs time to cut Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. Heโs got major ankle injuries and during last weekโs loss to the New England Patriots, he took a shot to the chin and had to be helped off the field.
Favre has done nothing this season to warrant fantasy consideration at this point. Heโs thrown 11 interceptions with just seven touchdowns and if you add his four lost fumbles, heโs turned the ball over more the double the amount of touchdowns he has.
There is no redeeming quality about Favre right now, plus heโs dealing with two fractures in his ankle and just received stitches for his chin. On top of that, the Vikings released wide receiver Randy Moss.
There are much better options available at quarterback right now. Do not keep holding out hope that Favre is going to start posting numbers like he did last year.
Jonathan Stewart (Carolina Panthers)
Finally, Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was going to get all the carries to himself. With DeAngelo Williams inactive for last weekโs loss to the St. Louis Rams, Stewart had his starting opportunity and all he did was run 14 times for 30 yards and no touchdowns.
Even when heโs not sharing carries, heโs not producing. The bottom line is that heโs got one touchdown on the season and is averaging 2.8 yards per carry. Williams will be back soon, which will again cut into Stewartโs carries.
We know the potential is there because Stewart has had big games in the past. However, heโs shown none of that ability this season.
Opposing teams know the Panthers are weak in the passing game, and thatโs allowing them to focus on the run. Stewartโs in a bad situation thatโs not going to get better.
