Liverpool: Belgian 'Ronaldo' and Dutch Sensation on Radar for the Winter Window

Liverpool FC have been long accused of being a little too one dimensional in their approach with the absence of good play down the wing absent from their play for a long time now.The reason for the same is obvious--- No proper wingers.Rafael Benitez , the former manager of Liverpool FC more often than once commented that buying good wingers would cost a fortune and so he thus concentrated on the ploy to bring in cheaper wing backs rather, who could if necessary bomb forward and do the necessary wing-play.

However, now with New England Sporting Ventures taking over the club, John W Henry,  the principal owner of the 17 man consortium, Liverpool FC's problems may well near its end with the proper funds now in place.

Former Liverpool player and legend Kenny Dalglish was recently caught scouting the highly rated Belgian wonder kid , Eden Hazard. Recent reports suggest that Liverpool are seriously interested in bringing in the £18m rated startlet from Lille to Anfield.

Hazard who  is known for his exceptional pace and creative skills is usually employed by Lille as a wide player on the wings or occasionally through the centre . The Belgian had earlier attracted interests from the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal, Barcelona and even Chelsea and Manchester United, but he is supposedly told to by his peers that going for a team where he has a better chance to figure in the first team is a better option, it is here that Liverpool perfectly fits the bill.

Although NESV , also owe the baseball team Boston Red Sox and are considered to be high spenders in the Major League Baseball, John Henry has insisted that there won't be a cash splash at Anfield anytime soon and that spending will necessarily be "wisely" judged and in keeping in mind the long term targets of the club.

Under such circumstances, signings like Hazard could well be just the type of signings that the Reds need. The Belgian star had an encounter with the Reds last March in the Europa fixture with Hazard scoring at home for Lille.

Another star under the radar of Liverpool is the in-form PSV Eindhoven captain Ibrahim Afellay. Sources say that rumors of Liverpool FC lining up a bid for Afellay is very strong and with the 24-year old dutch star's contract ending next Summer, PSV have already made it clear that it would be unrealistic to consider holding on to their prized asset . Thus, a proper bid from Liverpool should be good enough to lure the player to Anfield.

The Dutch star has been in sensational form for PSV and also scored a goal in their recent 10-0 drubbing of Dutch giants Feyenoord. The player although usually employed as an attacking mid-fielder by his club, is also considered  to be very good winger . The valuation of Afellay is considered to be around £9m and his fees are also considered to be modest for Liverpool's revitalized financial prowess.

With the likes of Ryan Babel and a few others not exactly in the favorable light at Anfield, this January could well mark his exit paving the way for the foresaid players.
