Manchester United Looks To Win More Awards from UEFA

This week, UEFA will announce the winners of this year's Club Footballer of the Year awards. Manchester United has six players on UEFA's shortlist, the most from any club. 

All players are also candidates for the Club Footballer of the Year award.

Van Der Sar

The most-capped Dutch international is up for the best goalkeeper award. His most memorable Champions League game has to be the final against Chelsea, in which he saved penalty shots and helped win the match.

Rio Ferdinad & Nemanja Vidic

The two defenders are in the running for the defender of the year. They were both instrumental in helping Man. Utd. get to the finals. Neither of them looks to be slowing down either.

Paul Scholes

Scholes is in the mix for midfielder of the year. Despite being older, Scholes still has talent. Instrumental in many Champions League games, he's a favorite to win the award.

Cristiano Ronaldo & Wayne Rooney

The two players had a great run in Europe, and both players are up for the forward of the year. Ronaldo scored over 42 goals in 49 appearances last season. Rooney scored 18 goals, but is known this year as Ronaldo's provider. Both will be hoping for more success this season.
