Game Predictions for Week One in SEC Football
I have found I have a knack for picking the game outcomes of SEC teams, so I am gonna pick the outcomes for the 12 SEC teams each week and justify why. I am putting the score, but its just mainly for decor.
NC State at South Carolina (Aug 28 Thurs)
The Ole Ball Coach didn't do too badly last year and I look for him to build on that. NC State lost their starting QB to Louisville, so the are starting from scratch. I don't think they will be able to get it all together.
South Carolina wins, 48-3.
Vanderbilt at Miami (OH) (Aug 28 Thurs)
I am going to have to go with the Commodores in this one. They won the contest last year in Nashvegas by a score of 24-13. They are returning starting QB, Adams, and the two running backs, Casson-Garison and Jennings, that beat Miami (OH) last year.
This year adds a new toughness in that it is in Ohio, but I still feel confident Vandy can get it done
Vandy wins, 24-21 in OT.
Georgia Southern at No. 1 Georgia
Georgia, for obvious reasons, is going to take this game.
Georgia wins, 45-3.
Hawaii at No. 5 Florida
Hawaii lost Colt Brennan and June Jones. Florida still has Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer. I dont even have to mention the 1000's of other players Florida has in its arsenal.
Florida wins, 56-7.
Appalachian State a No. 6 LSU
The match up of the two national Champs! Last year App St. went into the "Big House" and upset Michigan. App has a solid QB in Armanti Edwards, and LSU doesn't know who their QB is! But they still have that defense and a great offensive line to block for an onslaught of running backs! So no upset this year; D-I takes D-II.
LSU wins, 38-10.
Mississippi St. at Louisiana Tech
This match-up could be a good one, but I doubt it. I think the power and talent will prevail, plus Coach Croom has improved his team every year since he took over.
MSU wins, 28-7.
Louisiana-Monroe at No. 10 Auburn
ULM has the ability to upset some overrated team from Alabama, but not this one! The Tigers, Eagles, and Plainsmen are too loaded to pull a Saban.
Auburn wins 35-3
Western Illinois at Arkansas
Petrino is back and he is coaching in the STRONGEST conference in the land. He lost a lot of talent to the draft, transfers, de-committing, and just his own loyalty issues. But he still has some talent and he is a good coach.
Arkansas wins, 21-10.
Memphis at Ole Miss
This will be a hard-fought game mainly because Houston Nutt is bringing a new style of offense to a talented team. My only concern lies in Nutt's ability to teach his style to the Rebs in time. If so I look for this game to get out of control.
Ole Miss wins, 42-17.
No. 24 Alabama at No. 9 Clemson
Wow! Week one and we already have a showdown! Clemson enters with two bad-ass running back in Spiller and Davis. 'Bama has Saban and his highly ranked recruiting class. This will be either the tightest game or a one-sided blowout. I am going with the latter.
Clemson wins, 45-28.
