WWE: Championship Scramble

    Hey people.  I am Anthony and have been a wrestling fan since I was 2 1/5 years old and I am not 21 years old.  You do the math lol.  Now this is a big topic for every wrestling fan because it concerns the useage of the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Heavyweight Title.  Now if you dont know what it is that I am talking about let me clue you in.  On Monday, August 18, 2008, Raw general manager Mike Adamle announced a new gimmick match for the Raw main event for Unforgiven.  That match is called Championship Scramble.  This is a 20 minute match where two superstars start off with another joining every 5 minutes and the title can change hands many times during the 20 minutes by pinfall or submission.  Any superstar can be pinned for CM Punk to lose the title.  The last man to get a pin fall or submission by the end of the 20 minutes will be considered the World Heavyweight Champion.  This Friday they will announce the same thing for Triple H's WWE title. 

    Now, this to me is very interesting.  CM Punk was obviously not the first choice for the Money In The Bank winner or to hold the WHC after the draft but obviously after Jeff Hardy got suspended, they needed someone new and fresh.  Since winning the title ratings has rised and doubts flew to the air.  CM held the ECW title when John Morrison got suspended and put on some great title matches with Morrison, Miz, Chavo.  When he became the champ, I for one got very excited.  This bout has intreaged me even more.  I got tired of seeing Batista and John Cena carrying the title on both brands and facing everyone and going through the same fueds.  JBL was a good title holder on Smackdown but was interesting there with matches against Eddie Guerrero, Undertaker and even the Big Show and Kurt Angle.  Kane always make things interesting.  He doesnt win a lot but always gets his crazyness out there.  Those five men, John Cena, Batista, Kane, JBL, and CM Punk will be head linning the Raw version of Championship Scramble.  I hope that CM Punk remains champion after this night is because this will prove to everyone that he can do it.  As a little guy, he can take on the big guys, wrestle with the best, and deserve the title more then ever.

    Now lets move on to the Smackdown! side of things. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING UNTIL THIS FRIDAY THEN PLEASE STOP READING NOW.

    Triple H will put on his WWE title on the line in the same match but against 4 guys that only one of them have headlined before.  Jeff Hardy, MVP, United States Champion Shelton Benjamin and The Brian Kendrick will be Triple H's challengers.  This is awesome to me.  Jeff Hardy deserves the title shot and its his time to shine.  MVP is on that list as well.  He has mid carded and faught some good fights since debuting and is time to show what hes got in a match against Triple H.  Shelton has had matches with Triple H and Ric Flair and Batista in the past just to get his name out their to get into the top midcarders.  Now it is time to build some top names on the Smackdown! brand.  This is how they are going to do it.  Triple H might remain champ but look at this card.  These five guys are fast pased and energetic and new.  Even if they dont win they have this match to prove to everyone especially the writers that they are ready for everything.  The main guy I am looking forward to is The Brian Kendrick.  I watched his match last week and hes a great wrestler but hilarious to watch trying to dance to his music loll.  Hes a class act.   He is what they want him to be.  He is the young Shawn Michaels.  He was in the rockers type tag team with Paul London being Marty Jannetty and Ashley being Sherry.  Now he is walking around with a tough man like Diesel and Sid.  Hes got the look and the moves.  We see him win every week since the draft and beat jobbers but now its time to show what he has.  Yeah, it might be too soon to main even this kid but this is the chance to show everyone that we can now see him face Umaga, MVP, Jeff Hardy, Undertaker, Shelton, John Cena, Carlito, Beth Phoenix (Santino jab loll) and the fans will no longer predict that hes gonna lose right away or just job like the rest of the guys his size.  I can not wait to see what these 5 can do in one ring.

    Doing this type of match is not ruining the titles at all.  It is adding competition towards the title and shows who the WWE is considering to put in front of the fans and believes that the money will roll in with the new names.  These titles mean a lot and having more then one challenger always tells the story that it doesn't matter how many challengers there are, it matters that people still look forward to get to the top with their skills and grab that gold.  This ppv I think is worth paying for and if I had cable I definitely would.  Also a good thing about this match, all the top names are on the main event.  We can see some new things going on instead of the same over and over.  Michaels vs. Jericho, Henry vs. Hardy, and hopefully some new and fresh feuds.  Hope you all enjoy my first article of thought.
