Ken's Rants: This Stuff Is Stupid, Part 4 "Retirement, You're Doing It Wrong"

As respective seasons gear up, as well as many bleacher creatures preparing to return to the classroom for college classes I chose to take time out and do another installment of my rants. Rarely in my articles do I just go off and vent in and article but my rants are the one time I vent and expect to be told back that I’m an idiot. Bear in mind most people think Jim Rome is an idiot, but remember he makes more money than you probably ever will. I think anyone would be ok with being thought an idiot of payed enough. Example: Brittany Spears.

Anyway, on to the stupidity of your favorite athletes:

1. Brett Favre: Retiring, coming back and then rocking the boat to the point you wind up in a Jets jersey? I hope playing with a tainted legacy is worth it. Also, way to go stabbing the most devoted fans in football in the back. From now on future athletes below who consider retirement and then change their minds will be forced to live in your shadow. Moreover, I’m so tired of you from the summer I hope to boycott all mention of you come this season. The Jets need a miracle, but Brett you’re closer to needing a walker than being a miracle.
2. Green Bay Packers: So you have one of the last of the great quarterbacks, and then give him to the New York Jets? I admire your “building for the future” approach but Green Bay fans already seem sick of Aaron Rogers. Word of advice, don’t sell your golden goose till you’re sure you can find the gold elsewhere. In a note of thanks; thank you for probably sucking this year, it will help my beloved Dallas Cowboys in the NFC race.
3. Mats Sundin: So you’re not as bad as Brett Favre…yet, but getting close. With new teams added to your possibilities daily you can’t decide whether you’re coming or going.The media has only fed fuel to this stupidity fire by only discussing this when it comes to hockey. Let’s stop focusing on the end of careers, tell me more about the young guns I should look forward to this season. As my father would say Mats, “Shit or get off the pot”. Make a decision already; I’m tired of reading about you on Bleacher Report and every other hockey source.
4. Teemu Selanne: So finally I hear word about you today that you’ve only been laying low buying time until the Ducks can get under the salary cap. Good move I suppose but why wait until a month before training camp? That’s pretty rude to your fans; you could at least say something publicly about planning to return as long as the Ducks get under the cap. Thank God your not a Brett Favre though, at least your loyal and know a good thing when you have one.
