NFL Week 6; Seattle Seahawks-Chicago Bears Preview and Prediction

The Seattle Seahawks(2-2) travel to the Windy City to play the Chicago Bears(4-1).

This is a huge game for both teams. The Seahawks are looking forward to win right off of their bye week and pick up a win while the Bears are hoping to get some more confidence after a very weak offensive performance (passing wise) last week against the Panthers.

Bear's Jay Cutler is expected to start Sunday, which is great news for the Bears. There are doubts on how well he actually is, but Cutler himself as said he is feeling great, and that there should be no setbacks come Sunday. The Bears will need him, They're not playing Carolina anymore and four interceptions and a total of 32 passing yards will not get it done against the Seahawks.

Injuries are starting to become a factor this time around the NFL. Bears guard Roberto Garza is not expected to play Sunday. Chris Williams will move over and take his place. A much bigger blow to the Bears is the potential loss of linebacker Lance Briggs, who is not expected to play Sunday.

Seattle tight end John Carlson and corner back Marcus Trufant both did not participate in practice today, leaving their status for Sunday a little uncertain. Carlson is currently the team's  leader in receiving yards. Losing him would be a huge blow to the Seahawks' offense, though he's expected to play Sunday.

I've been impressed with the Bears' defense this year. More than I thought I'd be, and that's why I like the Bears in this game. Though they might lose Briggs, I think the Bears have an overall demeanor that could help them overcome that loss. If they can pass rush Hasselbeck and disrupt the passing game, the Bears will win this game.

Seattle, on the other hand, will have to play to their utmost offensive ability. Seattle has a reputation of playing well against the Bears. If Hasselbeck has a good game and the Seahawks limit their turnovers, I can see them winning this game.

The Bears are the favorites going into the game, and given Hasselbeck's 1-13 record in his last 14 road starts, I see the Bears sitting atop the NFC North with a 5-1 record.
