MMA: My Four Canadian Musketeers. Can You Name Them?

Dorothy WillisAug 18, 2008

I am sure that other writers could name their own choice of fighters as their favorite Musketeers, for instance Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, Rich Franklin and Jens Pulver. But my choice, if anyone who has not read my articles before, is Patrick Cote, Georges St. Pierre, David Loiseau, and Jonathan Goulet to whom the original of the picture shown above belongs.

My four are all Canadians, and although they do not all fight in the same organization (I sure wish they did); they are best friends, all are MMA fighters, they train together, support each other and are often at fights corner for each other.

They are not inseperable, as their fights may occur on the same night, or in different locations, or as I mentioned for different organizations that have conflicting schedules; but whenever they can, they are there for each others as they fight.

It would be hard to separate their characteristics to name the most cerebral, the most dashing, the most romantic, etc., as they each share many of the same traits or a combination of similar traits.

I find them all to be very dashing, courageous, intelligent, handsome and charming. If I were a young woman (and we all can thank heaven that I am not), I don't think I could choose which one to devote all my attention towards idolizing. They each exhibit absolutely everything I find admirable in a man: including humility, courage, honor, loyalty, steadfastness, self confidence and having a wonderful sense of humor.

As far as being top fighters, I am sure everyone that reads MMA articles is familiar with the records and prowess of these four, if not please for your own benefit look them up to see what I am so enthusiastic about.

In the absence of swords to raise to salute each other, I imagine them doing a high five kicking salute to each other instead. Then they would probably huddle up laughing heartily.

They bring honor to their country and heritage with each win of their respective fighting careers and by their polite and gentlemanly behavior in and outside the octagon. I feel they are the epitome of role models for aspiring young MMA fighters from any nation.

So to copy another of my favorite quotes from the field of legend and literature, "One for all and all for one!"
