The Deadman Returns to SummerSlam
The Deadman made his astounding ninth "historic" return to the WWE tonight at the SummerSlam pay-per-view to face Edge in this demonic Hell in a Cell match.
Frankly, as amazing as The Phenom is, come on—a ninth return? WWE is practically dependent on The Undertaker for ratings. They constantly have to send him off and have him make some amazingly triumphant return to keep people interested in Smackdown!—otherwise Raw will dominate the WWE.
Anyway, onto the match.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This was probably one of the best Hell in a Cell matches I have ever seen. It was one of the most hardcore, gory, bloodthirsty battles possibly in the business' history. With both men determined to send the other to hell, Edge and The Undertaker battled with steel steps, steel chairs, ladders, tables, and chains.
These two men put their bodies on the line for 34 grueling minutes. In the end, The Undertaker prevailed with his patented Tombstone Piledriver.
Following the match, The Undertaker showed the crowd just what Edge meant to him, unleashing nearly three months of pent up rage after being screwed out of his career in June. And with one devistating choke slam from atop a ladder, Edge was banished to the gates of hell, where, hopefully for Vickie Guerrero, he will stay for a long time.
The pyro gimmick imitating the fire of hell and the power of The Phenom was an excellent addition to the program, and I was very impressed. I do believe, however, that that section of the ring is the only part of the ring that has ever broken in WWE history.
Think back to all the times someone was put through the ring—Big Show chokeslamming JBL in a cage match for the WWE Championship, Kane chokeslaming his one-armed brother, Bam Bam Bigalow back-body dropping Tazz to escape the Tazzmission—it was always that corner.
Anyway, overall I was extremely impressed with the match, but not so impressed with Smackdown!'s dependency on The Undertaker. Smackdown! really needed Triple H to come over from Raw, and now that they have him, hopefully the WWE title hunt won't circulate around three men like it did with the World Heavyweight Championship.
With names like Khali, Kennedy, Umaga, The Undertaker, and Edge, there are so many possibilities for the WWE title now, rather than just constant rematches between Batista and Edge, or Batista and The Undertaker, or The Undertaker and Edge—that was quite annoying.
