Great Britain Climb To Third In Medal Table
Not at any stage leading up to the Olympics did I ever think we'd be sitting third in the medal table with over half the Olympics gone!
I haven't been around for too many Olympics being just 23 but I'm stunned and proud of the Great British squad. We're no where near the size of some of the Olympic squads from the U.S or China for example but boy do we have heart.
Not only heart as we've seen but some of the very best athletes on this planet.

Team Great Britain, I salute you!
Yesterday was super Saturday but what the hell. Let's just call it a super weekend.
Olympic boating was called off yesterday but nothing was going to stand in Ben Ainslie's way today as he destroyed his nearest challenger to win gold in the Finn class. His third Olympic gold medal.
Before that Britain's Yngling trio of Sarah Aston, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson took gold. The three blondes, as they've been referred to, fought back well from the previous day's disappointments to snatch gold and carry on Britain's "super weekend".
In the final day of rowing Britain's medal haul continued with gold in the lightweight double sculls for Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter.
There was also silver for the women's fours and the men's eights.
Britain are traditional powerhouses in the regatta so I'll not bore you with too many details.
The new heart of the Great British Olympic squad appears to be in the track cycling where we are the best in the world.
It's not just the men. Today Rebecca Romero (28)Ā and Wendy Houvenaghel (33) lined up in the woman's individual pursuit final. What made it special was the fact both women were representing, you guessed it, Great Britain.
Romero took the race to win her second Olympic medal. Four years ago she won a silver in the women's rowing!
A truly great Olympic athlete.
Lastly we have possibly the biggest story of the day.
Rebecca Adlington (swimming) proved Britain's improvement at these Olympics by winning medals in events we hadn't won in for years.
Today we won our first ever male gymnastics medal!
Louis Smith took bronze on the pommel horse to claim Britain's first gymnastics medal in wait for it.
80 years!
We are simply having one of our best Olympics!
We may have lost some talent in track and field or on the judo mat but we've made up for it tenfold!
Bring on the rest of the week!
