Bodies Hit the Floor at Missouri Tigers Scrimmage
Yes, I'm back from Knoxville. Everything was good, and props to Shawn and HMW for tossing a few things around. "kUchebags" was stellar this week.
After never spending a lot of time in the Eastern time zone, I have no idea how you people do it. That hour difference really messed me up for the four days I was down there.
Chik-Fil-A was pretty kick ass though, and you guys deep fry anything. I likey.
As Mizzou held a pointless scrimmage Saturday, a couple of significant injuries decided to get involved. The most serious is WR Jared Perry's shoulder, which decided it had had enough of being stuck in that whole socket thingy, and was going to leave. Perry suffered a mild shoulder dislocation.
Personally, I had this happen to me in high school during a practice, and it felt like a grenade blew my arm off. I would have rather sat through Meredith Vieira's version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' for 48 straight hours than to get that thing popped back in.
Secondly, Brian Coulter's foot and ankle just aren't agreeing. He had sprained his ankle early in camp, sat around like Mark Mangino at All You Can Eat Shrimp Night at Red Lobster, and finally came around, but got banged up again. Sprains just don't go away, and this thing could nag him until it fully heals.
The usuals didn't play: DaNario Alexander, Van Alexander, Chase Coffman, Andy Maples, and Adam Casey.
Good news according to Dave Matter is that Blaine Gabbert played. Gabbert had a sore shoulder, probably from handshakes to Chase and the Crew.
Gabbert was iffy; 11 of 19 for 55 yards (Good), and a dropped pick six by Del Howard away from having to run laps (Bad). Gabbert did have a better scrimmage than Chase Patton, but good money says Gabbert is redshirted.
Rumor is Gary Pinkel will drop a new depth chart on us after Monday's practice.
