Pro Wrestling Top 25: The Best of All Worlds
I've been gone for a little bit, but I'm back with a vengeance. Despite having only one arm to work with, I'm still able to take care of business. So with that being said, allow me to welcome back the Pro Wrestling Top 25. America loves drama. That's why we watch the Olympics.
#1) Triple H (SmackDown!)
The Game got caught in the Khali Vise last week, but more than made up for it last night as he decimated Kenny Dykstra and got a measure of revenge on Khali after the match. With less than 36 hours until Summerslam, can Triple H overcome Khali and retain the WWE Championship?

#2) AJ Styles (TNA)
After getting a measure of revenge in the Last Man Standing Match at Hard Justice, The Phenomenal One took it up another notch as thanks to a weapon from an unknown source, he not only beat Kurt Angle at his own game, but he also got Angle’s coveted Olympic Gold Medal.
#3) Batista (RAW)
The Animal let his emotions get the best of him this past Monday as he and John Cena became a footnote in the Tag Team Championship History. This Sunday, the rivalry comes to an end as The Animal faces The Doctor in a match that is six years in the making.
#4) Matt Hardy (ECW)
The #1 Contender for the ECW Championship got a controversial win over The Dirt Sheet this past Tuesday, but suffered the wrath of an angry WS Champion afterwards. The question now is does Hardy have enough spirit to overcome the odds and hoist the ECW Championship after Summerslam?
#5) Samoa Joe (TNA)
The Samoan Submission Machine was on full effect after using his own mind games to reclaim his stolen TNA Championship from Booker T. Now Samoa Joe has a “Four Ways to Glory” Match at No Surrender to look forward to…and maybe some uninvited (and invited) guests along the way.
#6) Taylor Wilde (TNA)
In reality, many are still skeptical about this Canadian Vixen. But after getting victories over Awesome Kong, both members of The Beautiful People and Christy Hemme, Wilde has earned her spot among the biggest and baddest in TNA as well as the Top 25.
#7) Evan Bourne (ECW)
The newest daredevil to the high flyer’s club has earned his stripes in every way possible. Bourne holds victories over Chavo Guerrero and his bodyguard Bam Neely. Even better, has anyone seen any superstar in recent memory who does the Shooting Star Press better than Bourne?
#8) John Cena (RAW)
The Doctor saw his second reign as Tag Team Champion come to an end because he couldn’t control his temper…against his partner, Batista. If the end of RAW was any sign of things to come this Sunday, the fireworks are just getting started between these two giants of sports entertainment.
#9) Edge (SmackDown!)
No one is happier than I am that Edge has decided to ditch the @$$ kissing routine and get back to what made him a force to be reckoned with in the beginning. Win or lose, I will admit this: Edge has regained my respect.
#10) Jeff Hardy (SmackDown!)
Despite countless efforts by MVP to make his life a living hell, the Rainbow Warrior has overcame more adversity than he imagined. He may not have won the United States Championship, but he got some payback on both MVP and Shelton Benjamin en route to Summerslam.
#11) Big Show (SmackDown!)
The World’s Largest Athlete returned to his winning ways by delivering a knockout blow to a debuting Ryan Braddock. After the dominant victory, it’s clear that Big Show and Vladimir Kozlov are on a collision course for a future one on one match.
#12) Stevie Richards (ECW)
In a time where it is customary to honor the departed, this week we honor Stevie Richards, who was released from WWE as well as several other promising superstars. We salute one of the Original ECW Originals. You’ll be missed Stevie.
#13) CM Punk (RAW)
Punk has lived his life straight edge. His only drug is competition. So anyone who has had to battle any addiction can appreciate Punk’s defiance in JBL’s challenge from this past Monday. And any redneck or Kenny Rogers fan is probably upset over the spilling of the Jack Daniels.
#14) Kane (RAW)
The Big Red Machine proved that when you’re faced with adversity, you don’t back down from a challenge. But in his case, we wish he honestly would. We now know who his next victim will be: Rey Mysterio. When it will happen is not even the question that comes to mind…
#15) Randy Orton (RAW)
This will most likely be the only time that Orton will be in the Top 25 this year. Thanks to his accident in St. Louis last weekend, we won’t be seeing the Era of Orton until at least November. So for all the women who want him, he’s in for one week only.
#16) Gail Kim (TNA)
Even though she wasn’t officially in a match, she did prove her loyalty to the Knockouts Champion by rescuing her from a beat down from Awesome Kong. Her prize: A street fight with the former Knockouts Giant next week on IMPACT!
#17) Mark Henry (ECW)
The World’s Strongest Champion did his part in the victory over The Dirt Sheet. Then he dropped his partner/#1 Contender with the World’s Strongest Slam. Is Mark Henry as good as advertised? We’ll all find out tomorrow night at Summerslam.
#18) Finlay (ECW)
The Irishman got back on track with an impressive victory over Armando Estrada on ECW. Now the man who loves to fight has sent a definitive message to Mike Knox: Don’t ever call me soft. Test me if you dare.
#19) Beer Money (TNA)
The team of Cowboy James Storm and Robert Roode defeated LAX at Hard Justice to become TNA World Tag Team Champions. Then they got knocked around by Hernandez this past Thursday on IMPACT! Translation: Sorry about your damn luck!
#20) Matt Morgan (TNA)
The Blueprint has been on a roll ever since coming to TNA. Now he wants some gold to show that achievement better. He’s also made himself a new friend and possible partner: The Monster Abyss. Can we say holy sh*t!? I knew that you could.
#21) Kofi Kingston (RAW)
The Jamaican Sensation has fought off The Burchills and anyone else who has threatened his reign as Intercontinental Champion. This Sunday, he has more to lose than ever. What’s worse than a loss to The Burchills? A loss to the Glamarellas for the gold.
#22) Sting (TNA)
The Icon returned with a vengeance at Hard Justice. He dropped AJ Styles at the pay per view, and told Kevin Nash that his biological clock was ticking. What will Sting do at No Surrender to turn back time? Better yet, what will he do if The King of The Mountain is returning to TNA?
#23) Christian Cage & Rhino (TNA)
The Instant Classic and The War Machine got a measure of revenge on Team 3D in their Jersey Street Fight at Hard Justice. Now both of them will focus on No Surrender and the Four Ways to Glory Match with Samoa Joe.
#24) Glamarella (RAW)
Santino and Beth Phoenix earned their spot. They’re still disgusting. They’re still not worthy of anything more than some estrogen and razor. However, they did get a cheap victory over their opponents at Summerslam last Monday night. One more of those, and they get some gold.
#25) The Undertaker (SmackDown!)
No one deserves a Top 25 spot other than the Phenom. It is official: I am beyond excited for this pay per view, and it’s all because of the return of arguably the biggest superstar in the WWE today. If Vladimir Kozlov wants competition, he’ll have to wait until after Summerslam. Edge is first on the list of people that Deadman, Inc. has to dispatch.
Special Entrants: Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac
If anyone has a problem with these entrants, then you can just go away. They will be missed. Thanks for the memories. And they have earned our respect. Heaven just got a lot funnier, and it got some major soul.
