Wow, that was fast! WWE Night of Champions was just two weeks ago, and now it's already time for another WWE PPV! But hey, I'm not complaining, especially since Night of Champions was probably one of the best WWE Pay-Per-Views of the year thus far. And speaking of predictions, I didn't do too shabby with mine. 5-2 for Night of Champions = awesome in my book! The only matches I guessed wrong were The Hart Dynasty retaining and CM Punk winning. But still, not bad. Moving onto Hell in a Cell, here are my predictions:
WWE Championship Match – Hell in a Cell Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. Sheamus
Who I Want to Win: Randy Orton
Who Will Win: Randy Orton
Randy Orton just won the title, so I doubt he's gonna drop it this soon. This, to me, is a no brainer. Randy Orton retains, and Sheamus either gets sent to SmackDown or Triple H is brought back to reignite their feud.
World Heavyweight Championship Match – Hell in a Cell Match
Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker
Who I Want to Win: The Undertaker
Who Will Win: The Undertaker
I'll admit, at first, I wasn't too sure about how bringing back Paul Bearer was gonna play into this, but now I've gotta say that I'm loving it! His presence alone has really added a lot to this already great feud, and The Undertaker is back! Expect him to win his second straight World Heavyweight Championship at a Hell in a Cell PPV tonight!
John Cena vs. Wade Barrett
Stipulation: If John Cena loses, he must join Nexus. If Wade Barrett loses, Nexus must disband.
Who I Want to Win: Wade Barrett
Who Will Win: John Cena
As much as I'd like to see John Cena join the Nexus, I honestly don't see it happening. When was the last time John Cena lost two pay-per-views in a row? Yeah, I don't remember either because it hardly ever happens. If memory serves me though, it would've been WrestleMania 24 and Backlash in 2008. But seeing as neither match was one-on-one (the match at WM was a triple threat, while the match at Backlash was a fatal four-way elimination match), I doubt it really matters. Expect John Cena to stand victorious tonight, and Nexus to disband, but maybe with some type of swerve come Monday night on RAW.
WWE United States Championship Match – Triple Threat Submissions Count Anywhere Match
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. The Miz vs. John Morrison
Who I Want to Win: Daniel Bryan
Who Will Win: Daniel Bryan
I thought the spoilers said this match was supposed to be The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan in a Falls Count Anywhere Match? Oh well, this is even better! Anyway, just like with Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan just won the title, so I doubt he'll drop it two weeks later. However, the fact that John Morrison has been added to this match makes me wonder. Is he a heel now, or what? Maybe he's just a fed up face who knows of the rut he's in and he wants to dig himself out of said rut. If that's the case, I'd actually like to see John Morrison win, and if not, have him turn heel after the match. If booked the right way, this feud could go on the next two pay-per-views at least. With or without The Miz.
Unified WWE Divas Championship Match
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Natalya
Who I Want to Win: Michelle McCool
Who Will Win: Michelle McCool
Michelle McCool is NOT dropping the title to Natalya for the simple fact that the WWE is NOT done with LayCool by a long shot! LayCool will continue to dominate the women's division throughout the remainder of the year or until Beth Phoenix comes back. Still, this should be a good match. Just watch their match from The Great American Bash two years ago if you need proof! In regards to Beth Phoenix, I've heard that she might be back come December, so we don't have much longer to wait. You gotta wonder if they'll do like they did Melina, and give the belt back to Beth Phoenix right off the bat when she returns. I see her winning it at the Royal Rumble, and LayCool then splitting up for a match in time for WrestleMania 27, title or no title on the line.
As of now, only five matches have been booked for this year's Hell in a Cell PPV. Wow, and the WWE wonders why their buy rates have been down of late? I'm not trashing the WWE, but they really need to consider dropping their PPV prices. $39.95 was enough already, $44.95 is even worse. In all honestly, I think they'd get more PPV buys if the price was cheaper. Same with UFC. I used to buy WWE Pay-Per-Views all the time, month after month, until it ended up nearly bankrupting my account. Nah, that's alright. I'll just read the results online or watch it on a stream. All in all, this should be a good PPV. Though not booked for a match, you gotta know that Edge will be there in some way, shape, or form. It'd be nice if we got to see Alberto Del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio as well, and a match with the tag straps on the line wouldn't be bad either. Guess we'll just have to wait till tonight!
