The Great Mike Richter ! Entering the U.S Hall OF Fame !

My favorite players of all time , Mike Richter , will be entering the U.S Hall Of Fame , Along with one of the greatest defense- men and hockey players of all time Brian Leetch .

I am extremely happy for both stars , who have most definitely earned their respective place in the HOF . It is amazing that these two great players are going to be together on this special day October 10 , 2008 in Denver where the ceremony will take place . You may ask what is so amazing about them going into the Hall Of Fame together ?

Well the two met in the early 1980's , they were team mates in the USA Junior Hockey League.

They played for their country in several tournaments as well as the 1986/87 World Junior Championships. And both played together with the New York Rangers for 15 years.

They both played a huge part and shared the glory in one of the Rangers Greatest moments in history in 1994 when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup . The same year Mike Richter won the NHL ALL STAR GAME MVP .

Life long friendship and team mates entering the HOF together is something truly special and amazing .

As I look back on Richters’ great achievments and the many records he holds , not only within the Rangers organization but in the NHL , I am Honored to have met such a great and kind person . And extremely thankful to have had the opportunity to watch him play for so many wonderful years .  And i want to thank him for all the sacrafices  he did for the Rangers and his fans .

He was great and when he was on top of his game there was non better . I miss watching him play , and do the things he did between the pipes . I remember the first game he played , it was a playoff game , imagine that . Against the Pittsburgh Penguins , I must say I was crushed when he retired just before the 2003/04 season do to suffering from to many concussions . He is my all time favorite player and his legacy will always live on !
