Chelsea's Joe Cole Could Complete the Liverpool Attack

The most surprising story in today's papers was a link between Joe Cole and a move to Liverpool.

I'm not saying it's remotely true but it would be perfect for Liverpool.

Liverpool had a frightening attack last season and with the addition of Robbie Keane and a good second season for Ryan Babel, I'd say things are looking up for the red half of Merseyside. 

Imagine then, Joe Cole on the right with Babel on the left. Javier Mascherano and Steven Gerrard in the middle with Torres and Keane up front.

That's a formidable side right there.

I'd never really backed Liverpool until this season but I sense big things at Anfield and a player like Joe Cole would complete my Liverpool Jigsaw.

What do the Liverpool fans think?

Yesterday I mentioned Mark Hughes and the reported in fighting at Manchester City. Well it's still in the papers today and as they say "there is no smoke without fire."

The Welshman is apparently close to quitting but why did he take the job in the first place? Million pound signs in his eyes?

The man was one of the favourites to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and that for me would have been enough to sit tight and AVOID Thaksin Shinawatra.

If he's forced to resign, he'll be left a little RED in the face.

Another laugh I got from the papers today was Sunderland's interest in Leighton Baines. He's a quality left back but £6 million pounds for a left back who doesn't get a game?

Absolutely madness and Sunderland could very well be spending themselves into debt with such crazy spending. In a time where bigger clubs like Leeds United have all but disappeared, it just doesn't make common sense.
