Argentina vs. Egypt Preview 🔍

Premier League Prediction

nikky belloAug 11, 2008

Thought I should give my predictions for the opening matches in the Premier League...

Enjoy! Tell me whether or not you agree.

Arsenal vs West BromThough I am an admirer of Tony Mowbray and the football played by Westbrom I will go with the home team. Though it may be a tight match, nerves might affect the gunners as it has done in the previous opening matches in the last two seasons that have past.

Also the midfield issue, Abou Diaby injured for a month and Alexandre Song at the Olympics, may be a problem. 2-1 to ARSENAL

Bolton vs Stoke—This seems a very dull fixture I see this being a draw. 1-1

Everton vs Blackburn—This looks interesting, I don't see Blackburn winning this fixture. Losing players such as Bentley and importantly Brad Fridel makes this team seem somewhat shaky and vulnerable. Not to mention constant speculation that Paul Ince has not won over some of the players. I will go with Everton purely because of home advantage. 1-0 to EVERTON

Hull vs Fulham—Hmmm i'm tempted to go for Hull because i just can picture Fulham going a goal up and quickly and easily conceding goals. The Fulham defence does not look strong but then again neither does the Hull defence. 1-1

Middlesbrough vs Tottenham Hotspur—Spurs will win this, all the new players including the goalkeeper look like very good buys. Middlesbrough on the other hand have sold quite important players and have not replaced them. 0-2 to TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

West Ham vs Wigan—This looks tight but I think the hammers will get off to a winning start. 2-1 to WEST HAM

Sunderland vs Liverpool—I have a feeling the absence of Kenwyne Jones will affect the Sunderland attack. The Torres and Keane partnership looks very exciting and i doubt the Sunderland defence will be able to cope with it. 1-2 to LIVERPOOL

Chelsea vs Portsmouth—I see this going one way....Chelsea's way. After watching Pompey play in the community shield, I think the quality players that Chelsea have will be the difference..oh and the fact that they have an amazing unbeaten home record. 3-1 to CHELSEA

Aston Villa vs Man CityWow! this looks good. Two attack minded teams with excellent managers. I really don't want to pick because i genuinely think it can go either way...hmmmmm....errrr ok ok i will say a home win. 2-1 to ASTON VILLA

Manchester Utd vs NewcastleAgain it has to be Man Utd no question. 3-0 toMANCHESTER UTD
