Manchester United have experienced some problems with holding on to strikers. Rooney's out with a virus and Saha is only doing workouts and could be on his way out. Tevez is the only fit striker Man. Utd. has available. Here's five different strikers that I could see playing for Manchester United someday and if they don't, they still fun to watch.
6. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar; Ajax, Holland
Called "The Hunter," for his ability to find the ball and score, Klaas is a top striker. He was the Ajax player of the year in 2006 and was the leading scorer in the 2006 UEFA European U-21 Football Championship, a tournament that Holland won. He was also the top scorer in the 2007/2008 Eredivies season with 33 goals in 34 appearances. There have already been rumors that Manchester United are interested in the striker, but so far nothing has happened.
5. Ronaldo; AC Milan, Brazil
I know, I know...Ronaldo's probably past his time. "The Phenomenon" still has some of that skill in him. Ronaldo has gone to many clubs in his career but looks to be staying at AC Milan. He's won three FIFA Player of the Year awards (1996, 1997, 2002); only the second player to achieve this accomplishment. Manchester United hasn't put any interest into Ronaldo, and there's a good chance they won't. Still, he's a great player that would fit great into the club.
4. Samuel Eto'o; Barcelona, Camroon
Eto'o is the all-time leading scorer in the African Cup of Nations with sixteen goals. He has a knack for always coming back and scoring goals for Barcelona. He doesn't look to be going anywhere after commiting himself to Barcelona. However, with recent tremors of unhappiness, Eto'o could someday move away from Barca and then he could play for us at Manchester United.
3. Lukas Podolski; Bayern Munich, Germany
The German international scored 10 goals for Bayern Club last season. He also made it to the Euro Finals with Germany in 2008. His preferred position is up front on the left, just like Ryan Giggs. He's a great versatile player who has a knack for scoring goals. He'll probably stay in Germany for a while, but who knows, he could always come over to the Red Devils.
2. David Villa; Valencia, Spain
Villa has been in terrific form since the 2005/2006 season when he scored 25 goals in 35 matches. In the 2007/2008 season, he helped Valencia win the Copa del Ray and scored 22 goals in 40 appearances. Well, MU went after this guy for a bit, but now it looks like he'll stay at Valencia. However, this guy is so exciting to watch. Maybe some day, just some day, he'll come play for Man. Utd.
1. Dimitar Berbatov; Tottenham, Bulgaria
This guy is a beast on the pitch. He's fast and hungry for the ball. Last season, he helped Tottenham win the Carling Cup, beating Chelsea in the final. The Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 2004, scored 23 goals last season and had 11 assists. There's already a lot of talk that he'l go play for Manchester United.
