Open Mic: The Team USA All-Time Lineup

Well, the email did say it could be any team. And heck, we are about to start the Beijing Olympics. So I figured, why not mix the two together?

The best Team USA Basketball team ever comprised, and the best that will ever be comprised in my humble opinion is listed below. Some may know them as the 1992 Gold Medalists. Some may know them as the famous "Dream Team". I simply refer to them as: the best.

Patrick Ewing
Larry Bird
Scottie Pippen
Michael Jordan
Clyde Drexler
Karl Malone
John Stockton
Chris Mullin
Charles Barkley
Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Jr.
Christian Laettner

No, of course it doesn't help that the second place team only had Toni Kukoc and Dino Radja to it's credit. To be quite honest, however, no matter who the other countries had to represent their nation, the U.S. Men's Basketball team was far and away the best combination of pure talent that maybe any team has ever had in any sport.

So yes, I chose them because they had talent. I chose them because they had pride. But I truly chose them because they represented our country how it should be represented...as simply the best. Good luck to Team USA in this year's Olympic games. They have quite a legacy to live up to.
