Clearout Expected At Glasgow Rangers: Surely Not Boyd Though

If reports in Scotland are to be believed, then Rangers chairman Sir David Murray has ordered a clearout at Ibrox.

This is hardly surprising considering their Euro exit this week at the hands of Lithuanian's FBK Kaunas.

What did disturb me however ,was the name of Kris Boyd among the players to be axed. Last season's top scorer deserves more than a chance after sitting most of last season  patiently on the bench.

The lad is a goal machine and every fan wants to see him scoring for Rangers.  I believe manager Walter Smith should find a system to accommodate him and bring in the players to give him service.

It is believed he may well be used as a make weight in order to sign Cardiff City defender Glenn Loovens.

But why, when we signed £2.7m defender Madjid Bougherra from Charlton Athletic just last week?

My only thought would be that Carlos Cuellar is on his way out, and that would be the last straw with Rangers fans eager for success.

Selling our best players twice in a year is NOT an option for any self respecting Rangers fan.

Top English teams are interested however, and may well be willing to test Rangers resolve after losing their euro millions.

Most players tipped to be headed out are fringe players and I find this surprising because, are they the players who flopped and disgraced our club?

No they are not.

Give Andy Gow and the likes a chance to prove themselves. You might just find some heart Walter.

As for the Rangers fans lambasting the likes of David Weir, you should be ashamed. Weir has been a tremendous servant since he joined the club.

I agree now is time for him to pass on his experience more in training than on the park, but he'll always have my respect for what he's achieved at Ibrox in his latter years.

It's a new dawn at Rangers, let's just hope it's not raining!
