The Favre Saga: Start Spreading the News...New York, New York!
There comes a time when it's no longer about the headlines. It's not about what the media says, it's not about what the paycheck reads, and it's not about being the best of the best, the record-breaker, the future Hall-of-Famer, or the household name that we'll tell our grandchildren about.
It's just about the game. It's the grass, the ball, and the man throwing it.
It's Brett Favre.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's football.
And, they go hand-in-hand together no matter what team or city they inhabit together.
When it came right down to it, it wasn't going to matter which team it was, who was dealing the paperwork, or who's feelings were getting hurt. Brett would of continued working out at that high school in Mississippi if legalities would of worked out and a contract was involved.
There was a field, there was the ball, and he was throwing it.
It was about the game of football, and that's all it has ever been about with him. He was staying in shape, he was preparing for the upcoming season, and the only thing missing was a uniform to wear, given by a team requesting his services.
Yet, the truth be told, Brett Favre retired. He had his tearful goodbye that they called a press conference. The fans found a left over coffin, threw in some Green Bay Packers' memorabilia, and buried it in memory of their long lost hero.
The organization moved on. They looked to the future with their young quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, hailing from the University of California, leaking potential and promising talent that has been building up and waiting for the right moment to shine for a few years now. The Packers made acquisitions and kept key players in hopes for another strong season on both sides of the ball. Their plan was in place and the momentum was building.
While all of that continued, could Green Bay really be blamed for passing on Brett Favre and trading him to the New York Jets, finally ending the played-out soap opera that wearily engulfed the entire franchise? He did tell them he was done. Again, he did officially retire. They were forced to move on once the fanfare of his retirement concluded because operating a professional football team in the National Football League is still, quite simply, a business.
And so now, Favre is a New York Jet, Jet, Jet. He still wears green, although a different shade, and his uniform will be different. His offensive scheme will change, along with the coaches, the ownership, and his zip code.
In the end, he wasn't welcomed home. Both sides had every right to their overall opinion and stance. They knew what they wanted heading into this 2008 season and they didn't budge. The Packers will be a strong playoff contender again, and the Jets will inevitably be better than last season, possibly even contending for a playoff spot themselves.
Through it all, Brett Favre won his right and the opportunity to play football again. The "good ol' boy" from Mississippi, the one that has been in our homes and our hearts since he announced his arrival on the professional level years ago, who extended his famous streak of consecutive games played, won innumerable amounts of ball games, who led his team and organization to a Super Bowl victory, and who became one of the greatest legends that has ever graced a football field in the history of the NFL, returns.
He wanted to play again, so the NFL reinstated him. He wanted to move on, so the Green Back Packers traded him. Now, he prepares for the upcoming season with his new team, so the whole world can continue to root for the beloved, Brett Favre.
