IconEvery once in a while I like to have fun by taking it back to NBA history.

Based on a debate between myself and a few friends, we took the time to constructed a list of all-time NBA players.

In this list there is a first, second, and third team, because having just one is way too difficult.

The list is pretty much based on our favorite players of all-time, so if there are players that should be on the list keep that in mind. We also took the initiative to add honorable mentions, because it was debateble for players who didn't quite make the team.

Note: Some players played for more than one team during their careers, so the team names in parentheses are the teams were taking them from.

Here's a look at our all-time NBA Teams

1st Team:Icon

Magic Johnson (Los Angeles Lakers)

Michael Jordan (Chicago Bulls)

Larry Bird (Boston Celtics)

Karl Malone (Utah Jazz)

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Los Angeles Lakers)

Honorable Mention: Hakeem Olajuwon (Houston Rockets)

2nd Team:

Isiah Thomas (Detroit Pistons)

Clyde Drexler (Portland Traiblazers)

Julius Erving (Philadelphia 76ers)

Charles Barkley (Phoenix Suns)

Shaquille O'neal (Los Angeles Lakers)

Honorable Mention: Oscar Robertson (Milwaukee Bucks), Wilt Chamberlain (Philadelphia Warriors/Los Angeles Lakers), Pete Maravich (New Orleans Jazz/Atlanta Hawks)

Icon3rd Team:

John Stockton (Utah Jazz)

Dominique Wilkins (Atlanta Hawks)

Kevin McHale (Boston Celtics)

Moses Malone (Philadelphia 76ers)

Patrick Ewing  (New York Knicks)

Honorable Mention: Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs)

Note: Kevin McHale was naturally a PF for those who didn't know.

And there you have it....

Whoever is reading this, I would love to hear feedback or a list of your teams.

If you disagree with the list then make your own through a comment.

Where is Bill Russell? Bill Walton? Walt Frazier? George Mikan? Jerry West? You gotta give more love to the older guys. Take Malone & Bird off the first team and replace em with Russell and Robertson.

The comment sound like a Lakers fan, and my knowledge goes back to the 60's I'm a historian. To the 2nd comment the list was based on favorite. Guy like George Mikan don't deserve to be on list due to the lack of competition. No disrespect to Mikan but that's how it is. I respect the older guys for what they did, but I mainly show love for the guys who played in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.

i USED to be a laker fan back during the showtime era. i quit on the lakers won their back to back in 1988.

and i mentioned that my knowledge of the only goes back to the 80s, i'm not trying to brag or anything like that. i'm only saying that my FIRST HAND knowledge is limited to that period up to the present. so i won't be including any guys like oscar roberson, jerry west, wilt, bill russell, baylor or any other pre-80s greats on my list.

    Where's Reggie?

Gotta love Reggie Miller somewhere in that list. And from a stricly defensive point of view, Gary Payton outght to be somewhere in there too.

    But overall, good list.
