Why Brett Favre Is Back
Today I will attempt to explore the truth on why Brett Favre is really "unretiring" again.
Sure Brett loves the game and sure he had a great 2007, but how quickly can we forget about his sub-par 2006. Lets now take the scenario Brett put himself in. After retiring again fromg the NFL he promptly returned home to his wonderful home is Mississippi to his wife and kids just like every off-season he enjoyed some time with them. After a grueling season it is nice to get some time to spend with them.
It is after this grace period where he begins to realize what his life was about to become. He sat on his comfortable sofa thinking about how sick he was going to get doing NOTHING for the rest of his life. He realized that nobody wants Brett Favre to do anything but play football. He doesn't have the kind of TV presence that would make him a good news anchor like Tiki Barber (I'm not saying Tiki is any good). So he was pretty doomed.

Now we look at the money aspect, because as much as everyone says "it's for the love of the game", I just don't believe that. He was due to make upwards of $10 million and this simply is too tempting to sit on a couch and pack on the pounds for. I also feel like that is why he almost took the $25 million to stay retired, but I think his publicist advised him against this. He got himself into this situation where he now found out he isn't wanted in Green Bay and he can't return to retirement, because of the statement he has already made he is essentially forced to play another season.
I do love Brett Favre for his long ball in Madden so I'd be happy to see him in the game again, but for those superstitious people out there let's not forget about the Madden curse. What it really comes down to is Brett didn't want to sit on the couch for the rest of his life useless when he could easily pocket quick millions.
