Mike Adamle: Fail or Sail?

What's up everyone, My name is Mike, sometimes known as Del. And in my first article I want to discuss Mike Adamle and his new role as General Manager.. Now, tons of people thought that Adamle's commentary job was absolutely atrocious, some wanted him to leave the WWE, and a few select people wanted him to leave the world altogether. I however, found his commentary hilarious, and was one of the main reasons I tuned into ECW every week, just so I can bare witness to him calling a Hornswoggle match with 'The Tazz'.

Fast forward... And now we have the announcement of a new General Manager for Raw, which has been a scarce position since Regal got his 60 day suspension. I must admit, this kept me and alot of other viewers guessing. I originally thought it was Ric Flair or maybe Shane McMahon himself. But when the new GM put Cole in a Tag Match with Lawler I knew it had to be a heel GM which left me with only 3 choices... Michael Cole (lol), Mike Adamle (After I saw him come to the announcers table), or Eric Bischoff (Would have been great. Love him).

But as I was building myself to believe it was going to be Eric Bischoff, it turned out to be Mike Adamle, which was a bit of a let down. But surprise, Adamle makes his presence felt after making John Cena vs. Batista for SummerSlam (A match better left untouched until WrestleMania 25, in my opinion). I didn't know what to expect the following week, but I tuned in to find out. And in my opinion, Adamle was just great.. He stated in the opening segment that he admitted he wasn't the best announcer in the world, and that first looks can be deceiving. He went with the truthful approach instead of some wacky gimmick excuse.

Within the 2 hours, Adamle not only made 3 championship matches, much to the delight of the fans, but established a new gimmick, the "Mike Adamle Original", where basically anything he does will be original and never seen before. This is an innovative idea and If done right, could go far. And then he told Kelly Kelly (I have no idea why she was even in this segment kissing up to the new GM) that he would reveal what was in Kane's bag, one way or another, next week on Raw.

I don't know about you guys, but I think Adamle did a pretty good job as GM this week. Lets see if he can keep it up... Adamle survives week 1 and sails on.
