Forrest Griffin:The First Ultimate Fighter, Now Ultimate Champion
It's a proverbial “rag to riches” story once one mentions Forrest Griffin and the career he has in the UFC.
After his brutal fight with Stephan Bonnar, in which he won, there was something to be told about griffin: he gets up faster than he falls down and can walk through hits without a hint of hesitation.
Once he became the first ultimate fighter, Griffin knew he must prove himself in the octagon.
As expected he did so. Winning his debut over Bill "the Butcher" Mahood by way of rear naked choke.
Griffin however, would suffer defeats from his next two opponents, through a controversial decision to Tito Ortiz and a TKO handed out by Keith Jardine.
As always, Forrest came back by demolishing Hector Ramirez in a three round unanimous decision.
Next in store, was hosting the show that had gotten him his start in the UFC opposite his next opponent Rampage Jackson for the heavy weight title.
Griffin wins he fight and the title by way of a grueling decision.
All in while from amateur fighter to the top of the stack Griffin has maintained a humbled personality— a true warrior in every sense of the word: heart, determination, and one mean dude.
