I know it's really early to start writing about the UFA in 09. But it should be looked at. Many teams would greatly benefit by signing one or more of these players.
Vancouver should focus on keeping the Sedin twins around. Without those guys, the team is a basement dweller. There's no way they can go on with the Swedish duo.
And as for Mattias OhlundāI say keep the other Swedish player as well. He is a great blueliner for the team, and has been for many years. i think it would make sense to keep the veteran skater.
What about Montreal? Should they re-sign Koivu? Kovalev? I hope bob gainey will be busy next summer. Kovalev and Koivu are the Montreal Canadians. They need to re-sign both of those players.
Tanguay I don't think is a big deal. He can stay or go, depending on how well he performs this season.
One of the biggest signings of the summer could quite possibly be Mike Komisarek. Did he really pick it up last year! He can block shots, take the body, punch your lights out, and and score. He really sees the ice well, and I hope the Habs re-sign him.
Detroit will keep Zetterberg. He is the new face of the franchise , and I think he will stay. You know he's going to be the first player Detroit will try to keep on the active roster.
As for Hossa and Franzen, we will see how they perform this year. I don't think Hossa would stay unless they win a Cup this year, which hopefully won't happen. Franzen? Well, who knows what will happen with that.
Overall next summer is going to be a big one. I hope to see some big changes to some teams. I cant wait to see what happens!
