Brett Favre: So Long, Farewell?
"Best thing for this team is for us to part ways," said Favre. He clearly wants out of Green Bay. Brett Favre thinks he is being a "distraction" to the Packers team. Favre says that he is at a "stalemate" with the Packers, and that this is the best thing for the organization.
Even though Favre was reinstated to the Packers, there was still a LONG way to go in the process of actually having him play. Brett sat down with Mike McCarthy and they both agreed that he was a distraction to the team.
Both the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears want to talk to him, and there is a rumor that the Buccaneers want to talk to him as well. The thing is, the Packers rejected his request to talk to these teams.

Brett did not report to practice on Tuesday, even though Deanna (his wife) and his agent "Bus" Cook wanted him to. So the whole talk about the "open competition" for the starting quarterback position will not happen.
Favre thinks that since Aaron Rodgers has been there all summer, he deserves to be the starting quarterback.
McCarthy and Favre are in mutual agreement with regard to him leaving. Favre also said that he has caused damage with the Packers over the summer and the team doesn't need that. Favre has filled up on anger over this past week, from when he got reinstated until now.
He said, "So they can say they welcome me back but, come on, the way they've treated me tells you the truth. They don't want me back, so let's move on. I don't know where it's headed. We'll see."
As much as people want him to just stay retired and not go to another team, all people can do is sit back and hope for the best.
