On Saturday, British Football's Back!
For those of you not living in the United States of America, you should be pretty excited right now: the football season’s round the corner.
Or in the case of the team I support—Queens Park Rangers from London—the season starts on Saturday.
The start to any season is great. Everyone’s unbeaten, and everyone’s going to win the title and no-one is going to be doomed to mediocre madness. Sure, some teams will fear relegation, but an early win makes your belief turn from "crap" to "Champions."

Madrid Fines Players $590K 😲
There are a few things I just can’t WAIT to come back to.
I can’t wait to get back to Loftus Road, where the fans are right on top of the game, and visibly give the team a lift when they are chanting their hearts out (no, in UK stadiums we are not told to “Chaarge”).
Sure, a man of 6 ft 5 will probably need a knee replacement by the end of the season— such is the proximity of seating the person in front—but until they get a bigger stadium, that’s what we’ll have endure.
I can’t wait for being with a group of fans again who share the same belief as I do—in the team. Sure, that might get thrown out of the window before and after the game with copious amounts of bitching, but for 90 minutes, we are one noisy, if dysfunctional, family.
And when the ball flies into the net, there’s nothing quite like hugging your neighbour, and screaming the name of the player who just changed your belief in life, death, and football into something a little more important.
And the great thing is that I know that millions of football fans like me are thinking and feeling the same today.
Don’t get me wrong—for the first time in years Queens Park Rangers will be a place that’s high on expectation. We have the backing of billionaires and we’ve just signed a new kid from Real Madrid for the season.
We have a former saviour in Lee Cook who’s back at the club for a year’s loan. And people are talking about us as possibilities for a Premier League place.
I just can’t wait. And I know that I’m not the only one with that sort of feeling…
