UFC New Years Bash: Hosted by Yours Truly?

Yes, you have guess it Chael Sonnen will receive an immediate rematch following Silva's recovery, as said from LA Times, Lance Pugmire. The rematch was predicted by a few after Vitor announced his next fight will be in November against someone other than Silva. Even before that Sonnen announced that he thinks he would be Anderson's next fight, but Anderson would not be his.

Nobody has had enough time to forget about their first fight. Chael Sonnen knocked Silva down and took him down in every round with ease. Sonnen had a very easy time beating on Silva, although when the last round came he was submitted by a triangle.

I thought that Sonnen fought like a champ and deserved a rematch somewhere down the line. However, I disagree with it being Silva's next fight. There are several contenders in the Middleweight division that have waited a long time for that shot.

We can assume that if Vitor wins in November he will get that title shot he has been waiting for. Also, Michael Bisping, Akiyama, Wanderlei Silva, and Yushin Okami are all looking for future title shots. With Sonnen beating a whole in Silva's face and proving he can defeat Silva, he receives an immediate rematch.

Anderson Silva, 27-4, and Chael Sonnen, 24-11-1, are already up for fight of the year due to the comeback victory of Silva. Chael Sonnen had previously won three fights in a row against nice competition, then put on a show against Silva before and during the fight. Silva is on an amazing 13 fight win streak and seems unstoppable.

You can expect alot of trash from Chael Sonnen and a lot of laughs from the fans. As much as you now love or hate Chael he is funny and can obviously fight. Expect a great show and another great fight, because Chael will do (or try) everything he says he is going too

It should be some fun pre fight drama and some great drama during the fight. Maybe he shouldn't get the immediate rematch, but he defiantly deserves it for what he did in the first fight. Chael gets the shot and we will see what happens in a rematch.
