Bleacher Report Writers: What's in a Name?
What's in a name?
For me, nothing. For others, everything.
I just wanted to talk about an issue that has been troubling me the last couple of weeks on Bleacher Report. I am not going to name any names in this article, and I am going to keep this as objective as I can.

When some Bleacher Report user comments on an article, I take time to read it and try to make sense of it, regardless of who wrote it.
Others on this site seem to think that just because you are an "established" Bleacher Report user, that makes your opinion somehow better than someone who just comes on the site every once in a while.
I've seen numerous posts that disregard comments by saying, "you are just a typical drive-by blogger commenting on the article, your opinion means nothing compared to someone who comments all the time." Why should it matter how often you use the site for your opinion to be heard?
Let's all face it: no one's opinion in here is any greater than anyone else's. I'm sorry, but no one would be here if they were getting paid for their opinions. Bleacher Report is a place where an average fan can come out and state their opinions, and I love it for that.
Just because you write more articles than me, why should your opinion count for more than mine? It shouldn't.
Great comments on articles should be respected no matter who they are from. I don't care if you are more established on this site or not.
Some may make the argument that a user is more legitimate if they make consistently good posts. I say who cares? What bearing do prior posts have on the post that the user is going to make next?
I could be an idiot and post 100 dumb comments in a row and then make a brilliant comment. Why should that brilliant comment be ignored?
I hate the path that the users of this site are going down. I hate that some Bleacher Report users, who will remain nameless, seem to think that they are better than the rest of the Bleacher Report users. Like your opinion matters any more than mine? No.
So, I am gracefully asking those users who seem to think they know more than the rest of us to put an end to it. Your opinion means nothing more than a guy who signs up for this site one minute ago and writes a comment on an article.
We are all created equal.
