TNA Desperation: PPV Competition
This is my entry for the create a PPV competition. It is set a year in the future to allow for the feuds around the belts and matches.
In this future TNA have aquired stars that have left WWE or TNA in the last year *allowed to count as per rules). Consider them aquisitions that have been made over the last year by TNA management.
I chose TNA because i like the talent pool more than in WWE and dint want to do a hokey vs PPV.
The Set Up
A big PPV needs a big announcer team and one that adds credibility. Enter legend Mick Foley as play by play commentator and JBL as the colour commentaator.
Mick is one of the most over guys of all time and is still in the buisness. The crowd love Foley almost as much as he loves wrestling, both of which are needed. He will be genuinely exciited by the high spots andthis will come across in his commentary.
JBL finished wrestling in 2009 so he is one of my having worked within a year aquisitions. He was a great color commentator on Smackdown and it should be no different here.
That both commentators have experience as wrestlers even as Title holders should create some lively arguments.
Match 1: TLC Tornado Tag Match
The PPV opens with a high flying/hardcore match to get the attention of the more casual viewers. Im sure ive got your attention with 2 of the best tag teams of recent times.
There could be great spots in this match from both sides, as we all know Shelton imparticular has had some amazing ladder spots. Haas and Benjamin have a big fanbase and they pull in some new viewers and anyone who likes The World's Greatest Tag Team would surely love The Guns in ring ability too.
Match 2: No.1 contenders "War of Independance" Match
Than we come straight in with a real feast of technical wrestling.
Doug Williams is making great use of his heritage to get even more heat than usual in this feud with American hero and one of the greatest wrestlers in the game today. The match is billed as a "War of Independance" and it will be a real battle of attrition, a 40 minute Iron Man match where you can only pick up wins through submissions.
"I Quit" and Ironman matches both have an epic feel to them, having them combined for a no.1 contendership adds alot of prestige to the title.
This is a showstealer technically and could easily be a match of the year competition. Classic case of Angle using his stardom to elevate someone who really needs it, in this case Doug Williams whos great in the ring and on the mic. Doug wins this one 3 submits to 2.
Match 3: Monster's Ball Match
Matt Morgan Vs Abyss Vs Mr Anderson Vs Awesome Kong
Some relief after a submission fest, this is going to be some good old fashioned hardcore wrestling. Foley is going to be so into this match! I see Anderson saving Kong and them both going on to feud with the winner Morgan with Kong becoming Anderson's suga momma.
Match 4: TV Title Match
Hernandez vs Desmonde Wolfe (c)
Both these guys need a push and what better way to elevate the TV title than with some home grown and well loved TNA talent.
High points in this match include a kamikaze bomb and bordertoss to the outside from hernandez but ultimately Wolfe retains to keep their feud going and to keep Wolfe with a title for longer. This eud would carrry on for months to really add more prestige.
Division Championship Ultimate X Match
AJ Styles (champion) Vs Christopher Daniels Vs Jay Lethal Vs Kazarian
An ultimate X with 4 great athletes, what more do you need to know?
I cant think up spots but you'll know they'll be great. I want AJ to retain here,
The Main Event: TNA Title Cage Match
Joe has been holding the title for 7 months and hes been feuding with both members of Beer Money for most of it. Roode has emerged as a main event player and i feel that he's ready to be the companies top heel.
Cage match is an epic style match for the title. Roode loses ater the second muscle buster in a row but storm than breaks into the cage and they both beatdown the champ.
