If You Aren't Watching the WEC - You Should Be
As soon as I finished watching it last night, I knew exactly what I was going to write about at work tomorrow morning. I have seen a lot of MMA over these last few years, but I can honestly say that WEC 35 was one of the top 5 entertaining cards that I have witnessed. Not one boring/lackluster drawn out decision. Just non-stop action. They all fight like they have something to prove.
The WW championship fight with Carlos Condit and Hiromitsu Miura is a perfect example. The fight held a ridiculous pace for 4 rounds. Back and forth action. It felt like I was watching Forrest/Bonnar all over again, just less sloppy. Condit displayed his excellent striking/muay thai and ground work. Miura displayed his judo skills to get him in some excellent positions on the ground, pretty much sweeping and throwing Condit at will. Condit eventually TKO'ed Miura in the fouth round, but it didn't come easy at all.

UFC 6 Reveals 5-Star Fighter Ratings
Ever notice how you don't usually see a WEC champion hold their title for a while? (with the exception of Condit and Faber; 3x and 5x defenses respectively) It's because all of the divisions are jam packed with equally talented, championship caliber fighters. This equals great fights for the fans.
Zuffa did the right thing in purchasing WEC and it's talent. I can see many of their stars in the UFC (or any other organizations that prove to be big) in the future. If you missed this card, then do yourself a favor and try to catch the rerun on the "Versus" network, or at least watch the fights online, you won't be sorry.
