Create-a-PPV. WWE's: GIMMICK-MANIA
For my entry in the Create-a-PPV contest I’ve decided to use WWE Superstars only, because I do not follow TNA nearly as closely as I do the WWE.
Considering the WWE seems to be in love with these gimmick based PPV events, I’ve decided the only way to make that approach seem un-stale would be to create a Super Card of mostly gimmick and stipulation matches.
This event (GIMMICK-MANIA) will assume the current WWE story lines following Summerslam. I will briefly include feud summaries of each match, and how I would like to see the matches play out; but since this is a fantasy, ill leave the winners of each match up to the imagination of each reader.
Match 1: TAG TEAM LADDER MATCH FOR WWE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONCHIPS
©The Heart Dynasty (v) Matt Hardy & Christian
Feud summary: Christian and Hardy have decided that the only way either of them is going to climb into the main event scene on Smackdown! Is to work together. They made an ambush on the Hearts on RAW (including Brett) after they had once again defeated the USOs in a glorified squash match.
Match notes: Hardy and Christian are a great tandem to be put together in a ladder match. This would be a great opening match for a PPV, no worries about match quality anywhere here, and everyone loves seeing Hardy and Christian in ladder matches.
Upon the end of this match (remember I am not picking winners), the remaining nexus make their way out. They begin to give their usual beat down to the winners of the tag match until…
Tripple H Music Hits
Huge pops for Hunter as he makes his way to the ring with a sledge hammer.
The Nexus back off as HHH stares at the carnage left in the ring.
But then Tripple H delivers sledge hammer blows to the Tag Team Champs. Everything seems to be going nuts. A heel turn has occurred.
Daniel Bryan Music Hits. Huge Pop
Bryan on the Mic reveals Triple H has been leading the Nexus behind the scenes as the RAW general Manager. He states that HHH’s ruthless management of this puppet regime is what led him to leave the group.
Bryan wants to end the madness right now. HHH says the only way he would ever give up control of the Nexus was if he decided to quit.
Bryan then challenges HHH to an I Quit match. Saying that he could make HHH say those two words after one of his countless submission maneuvers. Hunter accepts.
Match 2: I QUIT MATCH WITH CONTROL OF NEXUS AT STAKE
Triple H (v) Daniel Bryan
Match Notes: Again no worries here about any quality issues. Either wrestler winning would be satisfying. At one point in this match I’d love to see Daniel Bryan strangle HHH with Justin Roberts’ tie.
Match 3: SINGLES MATCH FOR THE HEART OF MARYSE
Cody Rhodes (v) Ted DiBiase
Feud Summary: Maryse and Cody have been secretly hooking up during Smackdown! Ted Finds out. Your basic love triangle. Maryse can’t decide between Cody’s good looks and Ted’s trust fund.
Match Notes: A feud between these two is almost guaranteed down the road. I think both of them are good wrestlers. I think this has the possibility to be a great Heel v Heel match.
After Match 3, Rey Mysterio’s music hits. He walks alone to the ring in street clothes.
Rey announces that he will not face Kane for the World Heavyweight Championship match tonight because he has officially retired from the WWE. (Hey a Kid can dream)
Kane’s Music hits, he makes his way to the ring with a full entrance.
Kane tells Rey he wouldn’t have won anyways as no one can beat him.
Mr. McMahon’s music Hits. He comes out and tells Kane, maybe no one person can defeat him right now, but he will have to defend the belt against 4 other people tonight. In an Elimination Chamber match. Right Now!
Match 4: ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONCHIP
©Kane (v) Big Show (v) Jack Swagger (v) Chris Jericho (v) Edge
Feud Summary: Edge and Jericho have realized that they are not getting anywhere on RAW. They noted that the Main Event scene on Smackdown! Was thin and had been terrorizing main event SD matches. Here’s their chance.
Match Notes: The key word when predicting how a match like this one will go down is potential. All of these guys can put on a great show. Especially in the Chamber.
Match 5: SINGLES MATCH FOR UNITED STATES CHAMPIONCHIP / CONTROL OF THE STRAIT EDGE SOCIETY
© The Miz (v) CM Punk
Feud Summary: Miz and Punk run into each other. At first they feel they could work well together. With Miz’s Control of the US championship and MITB briefcase, and Punk’s Role in the SES they could rule the world (or at least the WWE). This amount of power was just too desirable for both egos’ so they’re putting it all on the line. If Miz Wins he will retain the belt and assume Punk’s role of leader of the SES.
Match Notes: Mic work alone could make this a great feud, but I’d really like to see these two face off at this point in both of their careers. In ring work could go either way here but the stipulations make it exciting.
Match 6: 2-1 HANDICAPT DIVAS MATCH TO UNITFY DIVAS TITLES
(c) Team Lay-Cool (v) ©Melina
Feud Summary: Everyone already knows how horrible the current state of the Diva’s division in the WWE is. My thoughts on revamping are combining the titles. Personally I’d rather watch 1 or 2 meaningful diva’s matches a week; rather than 4 or 5 horrid meaningless performances.
Match Summary: These 3 are the only divas in the WWE Universe that garner any sort of crowd response. A good match could do wonders for the Diva’s division.
Match 7: 20 MAN ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH FOR A GUARANTEED TITLE OPPORTUNITY AT THE ROYAL RUMBLE
Feud Summary: Kind of a Mini Royal Rumble. No real feuding necessary, I guess I’m just a sucker for a Royal Rumble match. There are a few guys in this match who I’d like to see get a main event chance, and the Royal Rumble PPV is a great time because it does not have to be the main event match.
Match Summary: All I can say is if this match was actually booked I'd guarantee Mark Henry wouldn’t win. Poor Mark Henry.
Match 8: STREET FIGHT FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONCHIP
©Sheamus (v) Randy Orton
Feud Summary: Just fast forwarding the inevitable here. A fight between the two where anything goes, and no one can interfere.
Match Summary: I’d like to see Randy RKO Sheamus on something cool and out of the ordinary of chairs and announcer tables…
Main Event Time
Match 9: SINGLES MATCH; NO COUNTOUTS, NO DISQUALIFICATIONS
John Cena (v) The Untertaker
Feud Summary: Does it really matter?
Match Summary: I’d just really like to see one of these two pinned cleanly. I can’t remember the last time that happened.
Well thats it. Hopefully you guy's enjoyed my PPV.
