The highly profiled pre-season tournament featuring highly regarded European football clubs at their best came to an end with an unlikely winner out of the favourites.
A win worth three valuable points, and one point for each goal scored, at the Emirates stadium in the Emirates cup, Arsenal FC failed to defend a trophy they impressively won last year on its birth. With Real Madrid a threat and Juventus looking to cement their famous reputation, Hamburg football club were merely spoken of.
Invited last year but replaced by Valencia FC of Spain due to Intertoto Cup commitments, Hamburg showed up determined to entertain and take the trophy to Germany.

Mohammed Zidan scored a wonderful goal that undisputedly would have won him the best goal of the tournament. And a victory against the Italians, and holding the trophy might just have well astonished their new manager Martin Jol on his return to north London.
Although it was Real Madrid who looked well on the way to strike gold after a 2-1 win against Hamburg in the first game of the tournament, Arsenal finished the first day without a point after losing to Juventus 1-0.
The second and last day of the tournament printed a different picture as Hamburg managed to humiliate and defeat Juventus 3-0 with Ivica Olic scoring two goals in the last three minutes of injury time of the second and last half of the game.
The last and most awaited game of the tournament saw Real Madrid taking on the defiant youngish Arsenal future stars who put on a great show and ended up winning 1-0 thanks to Emmanuel Adebayor's penalty after van Persie was pushed down in the penalty area.
Arsenal may have disappointed in landing the trophy at home and the departures of Mathieu Flamini and Gilberto Silva will be mourned for a long time, but the season might seem long for most clubs in the Premier League with what Arsenal call the future stars.
