MLB Daily Market Wrap Up
Moving Today's Market
Jason Bay has quickly made his mark with the Red Sox and now the team goes for the sweep this afternoon against the Athletics. Bay is 2-for-7 with a home run and 3 RBIs with his new team. Daisuke Matsuzaka (11-2, 3.04 ERA) starts for Boston against southpaw Dallas Braden (2-1, 4.39 ERA). Red Sox are 39-16 at home this season. Over 70 percent of the money is on Boston, despite the line being at least -225 in most sportsbooks monitored by Sports Insights. Other aces pitching today include Ben Sheets (10-4, 3.14 ERA), Carlos Zambrano (12-4, 2.80 ERA) and John Lackey (9-2, 2.93 ERA), and Francisco Liriano makes his first start since being promoted from Triple-A. He struggled in April, going 0-3 with a 11.32 ERA in three starts before being sent down, but went 10-0 with a 2.67 ERA in his last 11 starts at Triple-A Rochester. The Twins are favored by at least -170 against the Indians in most sportsbooks monitored by Sports Insights. Pinnacle opened at -170 and is now at -174 so the line has barely moved this morning.
