When I left BR a while back, I did so with a heavy heart. I found that this was one of the coolest places to sit down and chat about my passion, pro wrestling. Upon my return I, couldn’t help notice a few things. Some of them were good, and some were not so good.
It was awesome to see so many new talented faces. Guys like IM DA REAL DEAL YO, Ken Drabek, and others have a lot of talent. At the same time, I also noticed a lot of people I debated with for a long time were gone. There are still a few vets around which I’m happy about. The A.M’s, Burgetts, and Heel Mark are still here to keep the ship afloat.
The one thing that has bothered me the most is the lack of a community leader in the wrestling section. I have contacted BR several times, but have not received a single response. This leads me to believe they just don’t care about this section.
While I have no control over that situation, there is another thing I enjoyed on here that I haven’t seen pop up. It is the BR tradition known as “Creature vs. Creature”.
Some of the newer folks may be scratching their heads in wonder. While others may be saying “Oh, I remember those things”.
For those that don’t know, let me explain to you how it works, the person who starts the “Creature vs. Creature” starts a topic up. Then writers are given a few days to decide if they want to participate. If they decide yes, they email the competition starter who they want to write an article on.
For example; if I chose a topic like the greatest IC champs ever.
You would e-mail me and say someone like Jericho, MR perfect.
Once the contest begins, you have a whole week to put out an article on which you pick. Here is how you would normally entitle the article, or something along these lines.
Creature vs. Creature: The greatest IC Champ ever is Chris Jericho!
You put Creature vs. Creature in front; that way, the reader knows its part of the contest.
At the end of the week, I will list the reads in an article and the BR readers will pick the winner.
I hope that we can get this up and running again. We always had a lot of fun reading each other’s stuff in the spirit of competition. It also would help bring out the best some people.
If this doesn’t work, at least I tried.
Here is the topic for this Creature vs. Creature.
The greatest Tag Team in pro wrestling history.
(This can be a tag team from WWE, AWA, TNA, NWA, or any promotion.)
If you’re interested in taking part, let me know A.S.A.P. That way, you have a better chance at getting your pick. If someone beats you to picking the team you want then you have to choose another. Good luck everyone, and let’s have a little fun.
You have untill tuesday to join in the fun.
