Daily Market Trends: Trades Lead Betting Action
Moving Today's Market
The trading deadline has passed with some major moves being made, and the betting action seems to be following the teams that made moves. The early action is following new Boston left fielder Jason Bay as he gets to face AL ERA leader Justin Duchsherer (10-7, 2.37) and the Oakland Athletics. Two of the most entertaining players from the 2004 Red Sox championship team will make anticipated appearances in two games drawing lots of action. Manny Ramirez will make his Dodgers debut after yesterday's three-team blockbuster trade between Boston, LA and Pittsburgh. He will face lefty Randy Johnson (8-7, 4.58 ERA) in his first NL game. Johnson has a 2.95 road ERA since rejoining the Diamondbacks last season, and should benefit from a start in the pitcher-friendly Chavez-Ravine. Pedro Martinez (3-2, 6.25) makes his return to the mound for the Mets against the Astros after three weeks off for the All-Star break, the passing of his father, and various injuries. Another game drawing heavy action, sees two teams active at the trade deadline square off. The Angels and new first baseman Mark Teixeira travel to New York to face the new-look Yankees and Pudge Rodriguez. Anaheim's Ervin Santana (11-5, 3.57) faces off against Sir Sidney Ponson (6-2, 4.59).

Key Market Moves
It's a slow day for Steam Moves with less than a handful of alerts, and only the Houston Astros triggered by a book with positive results. The Yankees and Dodgers each saw positive Smart Money alerts while facing a pair of division leaders in the Angels and Diamondbacks.
