RAW GM: Here Is One Person's Thought

Claude PeaseContributor IJuly 27, 2010

I want to throw a name out there that you don’t hear too much about, but for the below reasons, I can see as a possibility.

My name I want to throw out there is GOLDBERG!

1) Goldberg has publicly said he would like to have one more match. As a GM, that is likely to happen down the road after he works himself back in wrestling shape.

In an interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune, former wrestling champion Bill Goldberg said he wants one final wrestling match because he wants his family to see him wrestle live.

"If the money was right, I'd go out there and do it in two seconds," Goldberg said. "I'd have to be totally prepared for it, because I wouldn't want to tarnish my image, but I'd like to be in the ring one more time so that my wife and my son can see me wrestle live."

He also discussed his love/hate relationship with the wrestling industry in the interview.

"I don't ever want to say that I miss anything about the wrestling business," Goldberg said. "I miss the ability to put a smile on a kid's face, more than one at a time. That was a true charge for me."

Goldberg also talks about his latest television project, Garage Mahal. The interview can be read at http://www.signonsandiego.com/

2) Goldberg has been involved in "hosting" jobs in the last year plus, TV series appearances and celebrity appearances. So, he is working on his verbal skills. And I am not aware of any current "jobs" out there for him that will keep him booked as the year goes on.

·         In March 2010, Goldberg appeared on the ninth season of Donald Trump's reality series The Celebrity Apprentice and was eliminated in the sixth episode.

·         He also spent three seasons as host of the Speed Channel show Bullrun.

o   Bullrun (2007) host

o   Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling (2008) in episode "In-Ring Psychology"

o   Bullrun II (2009) host]

o   Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (2009)

o   The Rise and Fall of WCW (2009)

o   The Celebrity Apprentice (2010)

o   Bullrun III (2010) host

3) It could be a good spot for him to promote his current movies that will be released this year.

·         Minkow (2010) as Sax

·         Holly, Jingles and Clyde 3D (2010) as Gus

4) Goldberg was a dominant wrestler so if involved in any type of matches, he could hold his own.

I am sure some of the wrestling fans reading this can throw in more comments on why it is (or maybe why not) this is a possibility. Whichever way the GM result goes, I am sure many, like myself, are interested in a decision.
