Yanks Will Win The AL Wild Card This Season

This season the New York Yankees will win the AL Wild Card. They have traded for players who could help their team do better. Right now the Yankees are in third place in the AL East, behind the Rays and the Red Sox. They are also three games out of the Wild Card, behind the Red Sox and the Twins.

The champions of the AL East this season is going to be the Rays. Expect them to try to acquire somebody like Jason Bay before tomorrows trade deadline. I don't think the Red Sox are going to trade for somebody big. I believe that they are going to trade Manny Ramirez to a team like the Phillies and the Marlins. I don't think they are going to make the playoff because the team that they have left to play. They have fourteen series left to play, half of those teams are above .500. They still have two series left with Yankees and two with the Rays, which both of the Rays series are in September.

The Yankees don't have as hard as a schedule left compared to the Red Sox. I expect the Yankees to do one more trade before the trading deadline tomorrow. They already acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and pitcher Damaso Marte from Pittsburgh for outfielder Jose Tabata and pitchers Dan McCutchen, Jeff Karstens and Ross Ohlendorf on July 26. Then today they got Ivan Rodriguez from the Tigers for right-handed pitcher Kyle Farnsworth. With those additions to the Yankees, I think they got what you need to make it to the playoffs.
