MMA's Potential Rising Stars On Display This Week

Jacob SchlottkeContributor IIJuly 17, 2010

As a fan of MMA you already know a wrestling base is a considerable advantage for any young figher.  Besides the obvious fighters, Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture, you have a plethra of other elite level athletes with a history of amateur wrestling.

This weekend USA Wrestling showcases the best talent under 20 at the 2010 Cadet & Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND.

Amateur Wrestling's leading community, , will provide live video and play by play action of all of the top competitors in the tournament completely free throughout the event.

To help give you an idea of who to start following now I have put together a "Medal Round" list for the top Freestyle wrestlers in each weight class.

Keep a very close on on Taylor Massa and Destin McCauley.  While they are still in wrestling shoes and singlets now, these two are both at 152 pounds, have excellent wrestling techinque, and both are hard nosed enough to take their skills into the octogan.

Don't wait for these guys to turn into MMA studs to become fans.  Get to know them now so you can say "I told you so" later to all of your homies.
