We all know that the WWE is full of great talent. However, some of the guys in the company do not get the credit they deserve.
I decided to put together a list of the five most underused superstars in the business. Here it is:
5. Rey Mysterio
We are talking about a former World Heavyweight Champion here.
Mysterio has had his fair share of big pushes throughout his career, however the last year and a half has been more or less a blur. I know he has been hurt for a majority of this time, but when he has been in the ring he has faced the likes of Chavo Guerrero and Santino Marella.
Hopefully now that Rey is on the big stage of Raw, he will get to shine like he did for a long time on Smackdown!.
4. Cryme Tyme
Yo yo yo yo, it's Cryme Tyme coming in at No. 4!
Every week Cryme Tyme finds a way to entertain the fans, whether it's by selling another superstar's property or watching the back of John Cena.
These guys came in as a tag team, but Cryme Tyme spends more time following Cena around than they do in the ring. I know it is a good idea to get their names thrown in with guys like Cena, JBL, Kane, and Batista, but with the tag team division as bad as it is, shouldn't they be wrestling?
I would love to see them take on Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Jr. for the tag title. Hopefully soon enough they will start to get the push in the ring that they deserve.
I spit in the face of people who get undeserved pushes.
Here is a guy that won titles on both his Smackdown! and his Raw debuts. He is very athletic and is great on the mic. Carlito plays the perfect heel, but can also pull off the face character as well.
He was moved to Smackdown! because they thought he would have a better chance to be a main event. When is it going to happen?
They also thought he would be better off on a show that has a larger Hispanic audience. What does that have to do with wrestling? If he is good, then people will watch him no matter what his race is.
Carlito is in need of a push and he deserves to win a title. I would love to see him take on Shelton Benjamin for the U.S. title.
2. Mr. Kennedy
Mr. Kennedy got stripped of his "Mr. Money in the Bank" title when they thought he was going to be hurt longer than he was.
Soon after winning the MITB match at WrestleMania, he suffered an injury that the WWE thought would keep him out for at least a year. He came back in only a few months and has not been taking a back seat to clowns ever since.
They decided to move him back to Smackdown! after his Raw career did not go as planned. It will be interesting to see how they approach his situation. He is capable of competing for the WWE Championship, but whether they will give him the chance is another story.
He is great on the mic and he keeps people entertained. Whether you like him or not, he deserves a push, and at least a world title shot.
1. Shelton Benjamin
Ain't no stoppin' me!
Unless you are the WWE, who has kept Shelton from reaching his full potential.
When Shelton first became a singles competitor he rose to the top more quickly than anyone. He defeated Triple H three weeks in a row, which is something no one has ever done. Then it all just stopped.
He resorted to bringing his Mama out to the ring to help him get over the slump he was in. Then while he was on ECW he created a new gimmick: The Gold Standard. Shelton dyed his hair gold and became a heel.
He still did not get the push he deserved. Benjamin has stolen the show in every MITB match he has competed in, and what does he have to show for it?
An 0-3 record in these matches.
He is without a doubt the best all-around athlete in the company. He can take on the big guys and has the agility to take on the Cruiserweights.
It looks like the WWE might finally give him the push he deserves, as he just won the U.S. title from Matt Hardy. However, until he wins a world title justice will not be served.
The Miz, Charlie Haas, and Umaga
There you have it, my top five list. Feel free to comment and leave your picks. I just ask that if you leave your picks, please explain why you think they deserve to be on the list.
