WWE RAW Rewind: "Mike" Check?
About a month ago, Adam Wright had an interesting thought: Mike Adamle as new RAW GM. We all thought he was crazy. The very thought of Adamle as the new GM of RAW was ludicrous. After tonight, it's safe to say that Wright was "Wright on!" Here's the RAW Rewind.
After highlights are shown from last week's main event, the show opens with the entrance of John Cena to accept his consequences from his inadvertent shot to Batista at last week's ending. The hometown boy came down, and not only buried the hatchet with Cena, but also said that when he beats CM Punk for the Championship at Summerslam, he will give him the first shot at the gold.

After the two exchange words, Cena gets an idea: Batista vs. Cena for the #1 Contendership. Before Batista can respond, Shane McMahon comes out and makes a few blockbuster announcements. The first one is that there is a new GM of RAW, and he will be revealed tonight. The second is that the GM has made a series of matches for tonight. CM Punk will battle the most technical free agent in the WWE, and Cena and Batista will be partners against JBL and Kane.
First Bout: Beth Phoenix & Santino defeat Kelly Kelly & D-Lo Brown
In the first match of the night, the odd couple of Santino and Phoenix were in an inter-gender tag match against Kelly and D-Lo. The two men start the match with D-Lo taking control with an atomic drop and Sudden Impact. But after Santino fails to capitalize on a cheap trick, Phoenix tags in and does what he couldn't do: Pick up D-Lo Brown and slam him into the ground.
After Marella gets tagged in, he knocks D-Lo off the apron and rolls up Kelly to pick up the win. Following the victory, the odd couple share another lip lock, with Phoenix taking the lead this time. This is just getting weird.
Back on RAW, JBL is trying to con his way into a World Title shot against CM Punk. But thanks to a phone call from the new GM, Shane ignores the Longhorn Loudmouth.
Second Bout: Team Priceless defeats Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole
Before the bout, Lillian informs everyone that Hacksaw will be replaced by "Mitchell" Cole. As the bell rings, Lawler has control until a clothesline gives Priceless control. Rhodes is coming off the top, Lawler shifts out of the way. Rhodes gets Cole in the ring off of an accidental tag, and despite a valiant effort, Cole gets dropped with a vicious clothesline as Priceless retains the World Tag Team Titles.
Back on RAW, Mike Adamle comes down to replace Cole at the announce table. Also, Jamie Noble is in the ring calling out the Intercontinental Champion.
Third Bout: Kofi Kingston defeats Jamie Noble
At the start, Noble has control of the match until Kofi gets control. After a series of dropkicks, Kofi lands the Boom 3 Leg Drop. Following a cross body, Noble manages to reverse the maneuver but can't pick up the win. He goes for the power bomb, but Kofi counters into the Trouble in Paradise to pick up the win much to the awe of Layla.
In the back, CM Punk is heading to the ring for his match against an unknown opponent.
Fourth Bout: CM Punk defeats William Regal
As Punk and Regal lock up, JBL is whining about not being named the #1 Contender. Regal has control with a series of armbars. In the midst of their match, Regal manages to bust Punk open and in the ring continues the assault. Punk gets out of a full nelson, but he isn't able to capitalize on the counter.
Regal and Punk get into a slugfest, but Punk gets the advantage with a set of kicks. Regal recovers and nails a modified tiger suplex, but as he locks in the Regal Stretch, Punk counters into the GTS to pick up the victory. After the match, JBL tries to attack Punk, but Kane comes down to jump into the fray. After a couple of boots drops Punk, JBL and Kane have a quick staredown before the Wrestling Fraud leaves the ring.
Intermission: Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel
Jericho comes down to the ring with Lance Cade and says that he grew up because of the fans. He then confirms the rumors that this will be the final Highlight Reel and has provided a video montage of...himself and the best of the Reel. After ranting and raving for a few minutes, he lets it be known that with the fall of Shawn Michaels, he took a piece of each and every one of his fans with it.
Cade gets on and thanks Jericho for "saving him." Jericho then provides a piece of advice to HBK: Stay Away. After giving the advice, he informs everyone that he is also throwing his name in the hat for the #1 Contendership for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Back on RAW, Jim Ross has arrived on RAW...WHAT?
Fifth Bout: Mickie James defeats Jillian
Mickie gets early control, but Jillian counters by tossing her off the top rope. Following a quick neckbreaker, Jillian locks in a dragon sleeper on the Women's Champion. After an inside cradle only gets a two count, Mickie recovers long enough to hit the Lou Thesz Press, block the Halls of Attraction and hit the Mickie-T to pick up the win.
After the match, as Mickie embraces her father, Katie Lea comes down and drops the champion and makes it clear to the new General Manager that she should be the next one to get a shot at the gold against James.
In the back, Todd Grisham tries to get some information on the new GM. Also, it is announced that Shawn Michaels will have his first interview since the Bash next week on RAW. On top of that, Cryme Tyme is asking Cena if he wants them out there for the main event. In the process, Batista arrives and makes it clear that he doesn't trust Cena.
Main Event: John Cena & Batista defeat JBL & Kane
JBL lands some forearm shots on Cena to start, but Cena counters into a Throwback before tagging in Batista. After Kane interferes, Cena jumps in and sends the seven footer out of the ring while Batista kicks Layfield out.
Back on RAW, JBL lands a neckbreaker on Cena before tagging in Kane. The first unlikely duo has control as Kane applies a sleeper, but Cena fights out of it only to get dropped by JBL once again with forearm shots. As Kane comes back in, Cena starts fighting back with a DDT on the Big Red Monster. Both men make the tags and Batista comes in firing.
Following a set of clotheslines in the corner, Batista drops JBL with a Spear before Kane tries to interfere. Following a spinebuster, Kane holds the top ropes to slow the Animal down. Back in the ring, Batista manages to break out of the scissors, but JBL keeps him from tagging Cena. As Batista staggers in the wrong corner, JBL clocks his partner. As Kane is setting up for the chokeslam on JBL, Batista spears both men. Cena tags in and lands the FU on Kane to pick up the win.
As both men lock glances towards each other, Shane McMahon comes in and makes the biggest announcement in RAW History: The New GM is...Mike Adamle?! Adamle pops into the ring behind both men, and makes a huge match for Summerslam: John Cena vs. Batista. The two gladiators stare each other down as RAW goes off the air.
Adam, you were right, but was it worth it?
