WEC 49: Varner vs. Shalorus will be held at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and will air live on Versus.
The evening's main event will be former lightweight champion Jamie Varner versus Kamal Shalorus.
WEC President Reed Harris has stated the winner of Varner-Shalorus could very well be awarded a shot at the 155 lb. title, currently held by Ben Henderson.
The co-main event, which features L.C. Davis and Josh Grispi, could have title implications in the 145 lb. division, which is ruled by Jose Aldo.
We'll give you results for the five-fight televised main card, which airs on Versus at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Main Card Results:
Will Campuzano (7-1) vs. Eddie Wineland (16-6-1)
Result: Wineland landed a huge bodyshot that sent Campuzano directly to the canvas where Wineland followed up with punches until the referee stopped the fight.
Eddie Wineland - 2nd round TKO
Chris Horodecki (14-2) vs. Danny Downes (6-0)
Result: Horodecki controlled the fight throughout with combinations and used his wrestling to get the fight to the mat where he finished Downes via submission.
Chris Horodecki - 3rd round Submission (Rear Naked Choke)
Josh Grispi (13-1) vs. L.C. Davis (16-2)
Result: Grispi was successful by utilizing his kicks early on in the 1st round. Davis landed a big takedown but Grispi caught him in an extremely tight guillotine that put Davis to sleep.

Mark Hominick (17-8) vs. Yves Jabouin (14-5)
Result: Both fighters put on a striking display with Jabouin using solid combinations throughout the fight. But, as he began to slightly tire Hominick landed a liver punch that sent his opponent to the canvas. Jabouin found a way to get back to his feet where he then dropped Hominick but when Yves followed up on the ground Mark swept him and finished the fight from full mount.
Mark Hominick - 2nd round TKO
Jamie Varner (16-3) vs. Kamal Shalorus (6-0-1)
Result: Varner's speed on the feet controlled the action of the fight but Shalorus did land multiple low kicks. In the second round it appeared that Varner may of broken his hand. Furthermore, three inadvertant low kicks to Varner's groin cost Shalorus a point deduction.
