After what I believe to be the worst WWE PPV in history (Over The Limit), WWE has the perfect opportunity to right the wrongs that took place last month. This PPV certainly seems to have all the ingredients to be a great show. The best thing is that there are only five matches scheduled, which hopefully should ensure some high quality bouts.
Anyway onto the predictions (in what I believe should be match order):
United States Championship: The Miz (c) vs. R-Truth
I am looking forward to this contest, and it would be a terrific start to the show. I know that many of the IWC do not rate Miz's in ring ability and I for one cannot see why. The guy is better than average in the ring and I find him entertaining to watch. It was a suprise on Raw for the US title to go to Miz, but I think he is a much better champion than Truth. So here I see Miz retaining the belt at all costs, whether that be cheating or DQ or of course cleanly.
Miz, I am waiting for your first World Title reign, you certainly deserve it.
Winner: The Miz (Still Champion)
Divas Championship Fatal 4 Way Match: Eve (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. Maryse vs. Alicia Fox
I have to say that I have been impressed with the divas of late. The WWE seems to finally be allowing them to actually wrestle in the ring. It all started with that terrific match at Extreme Rules between McCool and Beth Phoenix. I hope the momentum continues here.
It is great to see Alicia Fox and Gail Kim involved. The weird thing is that this match is by far the hardest to call of the night in my estimation. I can't see Gail Kim winning so that narrows it down to three. I haven't gone much on Eve's reign as champion and I think a title change is needed here. So I'm going with either Maryse or Alicia and I think that perhaps its time Alicia was given a run with the gold.
Winner: Alicia Fox (New Champion)
Intercontinental Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
This match has a more personal feel than the others, with all the tension between these two competitiors. This should be a good contest, perhaps with Drew dominating the majority of the match. Matt Hardy has been banned from Raw and Smackdown!, but I don't think he is banned from PPV's is he? I see Hardy getting involved and costing Drew the title. This well then cause Drew to have 'Haardey' reinstated so he can get revenge creating a full scale feud between them.
Winner: Kofi Kingston (Still Champion)
World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4 Way Match: Jack Swagger (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. Big Show
To look at this match to begin with, you would struggle to pick a winner but looking more closely you can certainly cut the field down. For a start Rey Mysterio isn't winning this match. WWE didn't have plans to have him in the match to begin with, so certainly they did not have plans on giving him the belt.
Neither can I see Big Show winning the match, because I see that he will be going into upper mid card after this event. I would absolutely love for the straight edge saviour to win this bout. WWE had him in the match originally with Undertaker instead of Rey. I certainly will say that Punk and Swagger are favourites here, but I feel that this match will restart the Mysterio vs. Punk feud and hopefully the pastur of purity will get his revenge.
Rumours are also stating that Swagger is set for a feud with Undertaker for the title when he returns. A win here would certainly solidify Swagger's main event status.
Winner: Jack Swagger (Still Champion)
WWE Championship Fatal 4 Way match: John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Sheamus
I predicted in my last match that Swagger would retain his belt. I cannot see WWE having two fatal 4 way matches for world titles and not having one of the belts change hands. I therefore predict a title change in this match. I would love Orton or Edge to win it, but I believe that they still have unfinished business in their own feud. These two don't need the world title to make their feud exciting. That leaves Cena and Sheamus, and since I predicted a title change I guess you can see what my prediction is.
Why you ask? Well, I don't think the Sheamus segment (with his pipe) on Raw was done for nothing, he made it clear that he wanted Cena at 100%, and therefore I see the title change. Also it is very probable that the NXT invasion angle will continue and that the ex-NXT'ers will get involved and cost Cena the bout, really letting this angle soar to new heights, and maybe even remove Cena from the title picture for once.
Winner: Sheamus (New Champion)
Well there you have it. Knowing WWE, with only 5 matches here they are more than likely to add another in the course of the show, and I am sure that whatever that match will be, the face will go over to even up the numbers a bit. Over The Limit was a face oriented event with babyfaces being put over in every match, its time the heels evened the score a bit don't you think?
Please give me your thoughts and I hope this PPV is better than last month's, lets face it, it would have to go some to be worse.
