I'll See Your Challenge...:TNA IMPACT! Slamback

Ron JohnsonJul 24, 2008

Tonight's IMPACT! was like this past Monday's RAW: Just when we think we're getting the answers, they change the questions. After tonight, everyone will be left wondering if Sting is a coward or a genius.

Why, you ask? Here's why. Here's the IMPACT! Slamback.

Tonight's broadcast opens up with highlights from last week's confrontation between Samoa Joe and Booker T along with the mysterious baseball bat. The show goes live with the arrival of the TNA World Champion. Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash walk into the six sides of steel that have surrounded the ring. Joe comes out and wants to make his match at Hard Justice against Booker T in the six sides of steel.

Booker T comes out and decides that he wants to up the stakes by adding tables, ladders and chairs. He gives Samoa Joe till the end of the night to decide if he's in or out. As he walks away, JB is in the back talking to AJ Styles, Christian Cage and Rhino about tonight's main event. Cage makes it clear that after everything that's happened, this is personal.

First Bout: Consequences Creed wins the Fatal Four Way

Johnny Devine and Consequences Creed are fighting it out while Jimmy Rave and Eric Young are going for crowd approval. While Young and Devine fight outside, Jimmy has control of Consequences. Creed avoids an attack by Lance Rock and drops him with a DDT followed by a flight over the top on Rave and Devine.

Back inside, Creed gets his world rocked by Rave while Young jumps in and hits the EY Bomb. Devine hits the Devine Intervention on Young, but Creed recovers and rolls up Devine for the win. After the match, Devine, Rave and Rock try to punish Creed, but the Monster Abyss comes out and takes all three men down.

In the back, Kurt Angle and Team 3D are still guaranteeing that Sting will be there during their match tonight.

Back on IMPACT!, TNA takes a moment to give a video tribute to Kaz, who announced that he will be leaving TNA after tonight.

Intermission: Karen's Angle with Kaz

Karen Angle debuts her new talk show with Kaz as her guest. Kaz spends the time talking about the beginning of his career and going into why he's leaving TNA after all this time. The second part of the interview will be aired next week on IMPACT!

Second Bout: Matt Morgan defeats Kory Chavis

Chavis starts flapping his jaws towards a much taller Morgan. Morgan shows what he thinks of the loudmouth by throwing him around the ring. He then moves him under the ring ropes and in homage to The Undertaker, delivers a huge leg drop on Chavis followed by the Big Boot on the outside.

Chavis rakes his eyes in the hopes of getting control, but he only pisses off the big man. who hits axe kick on Chavis. Following the Big Splash, Morgan lands his new maneuver, the Hellavator, to pick up the win.

Back on TNA, Lauren interviews the Prince Justice Brotherhood, who are fighting over what their motto will be. Finally they come up with this: "We come in peace...they leave in pieces." Comments? Suggestions?

Third Bout: Beer Money defeats Motor City Machine Guns (Tag Team Strap Match)

As the bell rings, all four men are in the ring. The Guns take control with a few lashes and roshambos on Beer Money. The fight spills both outside and inside as the boys from Detroit use the straps for everything you can think of. On the inside, Jacqueline tries to distract the ref, but the ref catches her and prevents the interference the first time. After the second distraction, Beer Money has control.

As the odd duo comes off the top rope, The Guns recover with a reverse atomic drop and regain control. Jacqueline tries to interfere, but gets caught in the middle of the Ground Star. But thanks to the handcuffs she throws in, Beer Money picks up the win and tries to get some more lashes in, but LAX comes in and stops them from the after-match festivities.

Fourth Bout: Taylor Wilde defeats Velvet Sky not once, not twice, but three times (TNA Knockouts Championship)

In the first match, Taylor gets a quick roll up to defeat Velvet in record time (Five Seconds). But Velvet complains and demands a rematch. After the second match begins, Taylor recovers and gets another roll up and beats her in yet another record time (20 Seconds). This time, Angelina Love gets on the mic and says that she'll put up $5000 bucks that says Taylor can't beat her again.

As the match begins for the third time, Velvet takes advantage of a missed cross body and thanks to some help from Love, gets control of the match. Sky has the Octopus applied, but the ref breaks the hold after catching Sky biting Wilde. After a double mat slam, Taylor recovers and gains control. Taylor has the win nailed until Angelina comes in and interferes.

As the duo of The Beautiful People try to apply the Paper Bag, ODB and Gail Kim come down to save the Champion.

In the back, footage is shown of JB with Sonjay Dutt...at the hospital...with VAL?! Call me crazy, but I think she's giving Dutt the love and her fiancee the shaft!

Main Event: Team Angle wins the Five-Way Tables Elimination Match

As the match begins, all six men are on the outside slugging it out. Angle and Cage have made their way into the ring only to wind up back outside as AJ and Brother Ray wind up inside. Styles shoots a cross body on Brother Ray while Brother D-Von chokes Rhino with a cable cord. The action moves back into the ring as Team 3D grabs a table.

Team 3D has Styles on the table, but thanks to the quick thinking of Cage and Rhino, Brother D-Von is sent through it instead and eliminated. Following a Gore from Rhino, Angle returns and plays home run derby with a steel chair.

Back on IMPACT!, Angle and Brother Ray are assaulting Cage after Rhino's elimination. Cage has Angle set up on the table, but thanks to interference from an eliminated Brother D-Von and a 3D, The Instant Classic gets sent through the table and eliminated. Following a Pele, AJ sets up Brother Ray on a table, but Johnny Devine comes in and interferes. The problem: He throws the powder in Ray's eyes. His reward? Being powerbombed through a table.

As Ray tries to cover his eyes, AJ uses Angle's momentum to eliminate Brother Ray. But after another interference from UFC washout Frank Trigg, AJ Styles is eliminated via the Olympic Slam as Kurt wins the match for his team.

Conclusion: Booker T and Samoa Joe Faceoff

Back on IMPACT!, Booker T and Sharmell make their way to the ring, and Joe makes his way down with Kevin Nash. Booker demands that Nash leave the ring, but Joe agrees only if Booker's "bat-wielding wench" goes too. As both outside parties leave the ring, Booker T signs the contract and hands it to Samoa Joe.

As Joe prepares to sign, the lights go out and Sting's music hits. As the lights come back on, Booker T stands over an unconscious Joe with one of Sting's trademark baseball bats.

For the second week in a row, no Sting. No answers. More questions. Hopefully next week, he'll actually have the balls to show up.

Next Week on IMPACT!, Beer Money faces Christian Cage and Rhino, and the winner faces TNA World Tag Team Champions LAX for the gold.

See ya tomorrow for WWE Friday Night SmackDown!
