New Drivers Pre Entered for Idaho 200

Stateline Speedway officials have released a preliminary list of entries for the 2008 running of the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200. The list for the event, held August 1-3, is based on entries received as of date and features a large contingent of experienced race teams from the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series making their debut at the event and speedway.

Twelve Rocky Mountain Challenge Series teams are currently listed. Idaho leads the states with most drivers entered for the first time in the event’s history.

Among those competing in this year’s Idaho 200 and NAPA AutoCare Duel races include; Challenge Series point leader, former Champion and Rocky Mountain Raceway Champion Dave Minegar of Boise, feature winner Tom Hill, 2007 Challenge Series Champion John Newhouse, and multiple series race winner Bobby Latham III of Twin Falls, Idaho.

Past champions of the Northwest Tour will attempt the race including 1990 NASCAR title winner John Dillon of Eagle, Idaho. Three time NASCAR tour title holder and defending Idaho 200 champ Gary Lewis will be back to add to his impressive season of victories.

Nevada and Utah will have presence for the first time ever at the event with Las Vegas Bullring competitors Thane Alderman, Jim Wulfenstein, and Rick Taylor entered along with Spring Creek’s Travis Monett. Wade Frey will represent Utah.

Two-time Pro Truck champion Dan Koyle of Filer, Idaho, and Meridian Speedway champion Craig Bell will also make their Idaho 200 debut.

2006 Idaho 200 winner Kevin Richards (Newman Lake, Washington) will compete in the event along with defending INSSA Champion and current point leader Dave Garber of Spokane.

Ephrata, Washington’s Amanda Mac Donald will become the first female competitor to participate in the event after a strong season in the local ICAR Racing Series.

Several other teams are attempting to run the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 including the INSSA and Rocky Mountain Challenge Series Duel races but have not pre entered.

The NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 features a gathering of late model stock car teams in one of the largest motorsports events in the region. During the annual NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200, competitors from Inland Northwest Super Stock Series, Rocky Mountain Challenge Series along with the region’s leading independent race teams battle it out in three days of competition, August 1-3, 2008.

The event concludes on August 3, with the annual 200-lap NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 at Stateline Speedway.
