Last season, the Buffalo Bills had the world on their shoulders, and the Patriots were on top of the world. This season, the Bills are a team injected with promise, talent, and youth.
The Patriots, the bullies of the NFL last season, are battle weary (Super Bowl and unbeaten-streak hangover) and are entering the season with a depleted secondary. The '08-'09 AFC East divisional winner is changing uniforms.
Buffalo Bills (12-4)
The Bills were riddled with injuries last year, and they were desperately signing players off the street during the whole season. The team went through some serious growing pains last year, but they are now poised to strike quickly in the NFL standings.
The Bills have one of the easiest schedules, and the fact that they don't play a divisional rival until Week Eight gives the coaching staff an extended training camp.
The added height and weight to both sides of the ball gives the Bills a very balanced team.
Potential: top-10 NFL offense with a top-five NFL defense.
NE Patriots (8-8)
The bullies of the NFL last year are in for a rough time. The Patriots ran up the score on their opponents without mercy. In martial arts, you allow your opponent to tap out; but the Patriots just kept laying the beating on.
The NFL brotherhood took notice and will make the Patriots pay, as every team will be ready to lay a hurting on them. The Patriots are the targets and Tom Brady is the bulls-eye. Tom Brady won't finish the season.
Not helping the patriots is a hangover (Super Bowl and undefeated streak) with a depleted secondary.
NY Jets (5-11)
The Jets overachieved in the 2006 season and overvalued their player personnel in the process. When you talk about a team's strengths, starting with their secondary, LBs, and then OL, in that order, you know you're in rough shape.
Eric Mangini will discover that he can't make a living by just beating the Patriots and will be fired at the end of the season.
Miami Dolphins (4-12)
The Dolphins will finally hit rock bottom after losing the first eight games and then going 4-4 in the last eight games of the schedule; giving Dolphin fans some hope for next year.
Management will weed out which players they will keep for the following season. After three seasons, Bill Parcells will find another NFL team in crisis and play super hero again; stealing management and players from the Dolphins for his new team.
Key Positions for Buffalo Bills:
QBs: Trent Edwards is undervalued and overlooked. He took an unexpected starters job in early season, after having only second-string snaps in training camp and preseason.
Expect Edwards to be fully prepared this coming season, and the poised Edwards will be difficult to rattle for opposing defenses. J.P. Losman is still an exciting QB that can bring the whole house to their feet. His consistency has plagued him, making him a possible trade target or decent backup. Progress is not out of the question.
RBs: Marshawn Lynch will explode for 18 TDs and 1,800 multi-purpose yards. Fred Jackson has shown an ability to carry the ball consistently. Wright needs to make an impact in the preseason for playing time.
WRs: James Hardy is a talented red-zone threat that will take some heat off Lee Evans. Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed will work the underneath. The WRs have the ability to be part of a very dynamic offense.
TE: Derek Schouman moves very well for a big player, and he catches and blocks as well. He will make a noticeable impact in the red zone.
OL: The OL took unnecessary heat last year because of poor QB play and play calling. The center position was a weakness for the Bills last year and still is a major concern. LT Jason Peters has to decide if he loves football more than money by showing up in good faith for camp.
DL: Key additions of Marcus Stroud and Spencer Johnson will give the vastly improved DT unit (Williams and McCargo) added waves of QB pressure and penetration. Last year's injuries affected the DEs the most. Expect Aaron Schobel and the boys to rebound
LBs: The word "NASTY" is the only way to describe the Posluszny-Mitchell-Crowell trio. John DiGiorgio played his heart out last year and will add great depth.
CBs: First round pick Leodis McKelvin is a luxury that the Bills could have only dreamed of last season. He's capable of replacing the PR, KR, and either CB. It would be great to see the Bills have McKelvin target Patriots WR Randy Moss in Week 10.
This will allow him to gradually ease into the Bills' roster and give him a goal to shoot for in mid-season. The Greer-McGee tandem progressed throughout all of last season and will only get better this year.
Safety: Ko Simpson returning will make life easier for Donte Whitner, who was the anchor of the defense last year. Whitner had so many new faces around him that it affected his play making ability.
Whitner has taken on the role of " Mother Goose" to a couple of Bills this season, and his leadership and dedication is seeping through. Why did the Bills "reach" for Whitner in the draft again?
Coaching Staff: Defense coordinator Perry Fewell is probably the most underrated in the league; he's in the top-five with creativity, game planning, and obtaining maximum player effort.
Bobby April will rebound in special teams after having his cupboard left bare all last season with all the injuries. Players were drafted specifically for him this year. Turk Schonert is the rookie offensive coordinator that talks about adjusting the play calling to his QB. It sounds like he's been doing that job for years.
Coach Dick Jauron will be a front-runner for Coach of the Year!
Key Positions for the NE Patriots
QB: Tom Brady will be the NFL trophy for every NFL defense. Since there is no such thing as "running up the score", there is no such thing as "tackling to injure". Brady won't finish the season, but he's still a great QB!
RBs: Laurence Maroney's explosive collegiate form never translated into the NFL, and his stand-up style will put him more on the DL than in the end zone. Maroney and Morris won't carry the Patriots on their backs with their average play.
WRs: Wes Welker and his ability to "turtle" on almost half of his short passes gives him great durability. Welker is extremely fast, and he is a smart player that uses the QB slide effectively to extend himself physically late into games.
Randy Moss is a man among boys, talent-wise, but he hasn't had anything to complain about in Patriots paradise. We'll see when Brady goes absent towards the end of the season.
OL: Tops in the NFL last year, but the NY Giants showed in the Super Bowl how to tire them out by rotating their DL
Defense: The depletion of their secondary, and their LB's taking a notch down, will open the field up for opposing teams. LB Adalius Thomas really needs to step-up.
A spotty Patriots defense will be exposed with too many holes to cover, and they won't be able to get off the field at will like last year.

Okay, I am by no means a Pats fan. Look at my avatar, I am a Raiders fan, so it should be well known that I hate the Pats. This said, I have to disagree. Patriots 8-8? Cmon Brady and Moss 8-8? As much as I would love to see that happen, I can't imagine it. Sorry

Then you will enjoy watching this 8-8 season unfold.
Emotion on the field rules and when opposing players line up against the patriots this season there will extra energy to burn.

well anything's possible, but ur only saying this because you're a bills fan. I know the Pats will have to deal with a lot: teams who have lost super bowl often suck the next year, inexperienced linebacking corps, etc. That said, the pats will make the playoffs with ease. also, the bills will not be 12-4. that would make them in like the top 5 in the NFL. they will improve, maybe be 9-7 or 8-8 and won't make the playoffs.

In 8 seasons the Patriots of missed the playoffs once. In Brady's sophmore year. Since taking over as QB his records is as follows:
* 86–24 (regular season), 100–27 (career) as a starter
* 19.00 passing attempts per touchdown (career)
* 43.23 passing attempts per interception (career)
* 7–0 (career) in overtime games
* 30–6 (career) in games decided by 3 points or fewer
* 11–2 (career) in dome stadiums
* 38–2 (career) on artificial surfaces
* 27–5 (career) vs NFC teams
* 84–1 (regular season) when the Patriots have a lead at any time in the fourth quarter[32]
* 28 game-winning drives after a Patriots' fourth-quarter tie or deficit
Under Belichick, the Patriots have gone 91-37 in eight seasons. The team has also gone 14-3 in the playoffs, and 3-1 in Super Bowls. They have also won five straight division titles (2003-2007) and six overall. The Patriots have also never lost to a regular season MVP in the playoffs (Kurt Warner in Super Bowl XXXVI, Peyton Manning and Steve McNair after the 2003 season, Manning in 2004, LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006).
So I don't see them going less then 13-3 for a long while.

Oh, wait, are you serious? I agree that the Bills will do much better this season (and potentially even pick up the wild card), but by no means will the Pats go 8-8-0. Additionally, you're an asshole for suggesting that teams will target Brady. Most NFL players and coaches have a bit more class than to attempt to take a player down for something like having a good team.
There's a bit more to football than I think you're accounting for here.

Teams WILL target Brady. Just like Vince targeted Losman's knee.
It will be VERY hard to win games as a Patriot when you no longer know what coverage and where the blitz is coming from. Doug Flutie, a former Bill, said he was suprised to hear what was coming through the QB earpiece.

Teams will not target Brady and risk fines and suspensions.
Players will be extremely motivated and coming after him with high energy week in and week out. Add mental fatigue from last season and a gimpy ankle, doesn't look promising for Brady to finish the season.
There will be no sympathy from the rest of the NFL.
from about 1 month ago
Forgot to mention about players taking other players out:
NE NT Vince Wilfork is a pro at it, one example just ask JP Losman or just check the video replays.
from about 1 month ago
There hasn't been sympathy from the rest of the NFL for Tom Brady for YEARS. Tom Brady is hit more than any other QB year in and year out. He's a tough SOB; a minor ankle injury and your idea of "mental fatigue" (which wasn't evident at all) won't keep Brady from finishing another season out. Wishful thinking, and it's bad practice to rely on speculation like that.
The example you're referring to? I was watching that. Vince Wilfork weighs over three hundred pounds and throws himself at OL men to get to the QB. Your guy fell and so did Vince; you try stopping three hundred pounds being thrown at you with all the force the guy could muster -_-
from about 1 month ago
Take a look at your boy Vince and how he stick his elbow out 90 degrees?
Not to break his fall but aim directly for Losman's knee.
Tom Brady is a great QB! Check all the teams that went to the Super Bowl in the last 10-15 years and
how well they did the next year. They crashed and burned! Mentally draining!
No sympathy for Tom Brady but they had alot of respect for him. last year Brady padded his stats at the expense of a lot teams.

I'm a Bills fan, but that's crazy talk right there. I'll go this far - the Week 10 game between the Bills and Pats will be a contest to determine first place in the East, with a Bills team that is either 5-3 or 6-2 and a Pats team that's likely 6-2 (maybe an outside chance of 7-1, which would make it potentially not a battle for first). Given that it's midseason and it's at Gillette, I see the Pats winning to take a two-game lead over the Bills, a lead they simply will not relinquish. I also think the Bills will split the two games against the Pats this year, as I think Buffalo will need a W in Week 17 to get a wild card while it's likely the Pats will be resting people for most of the game (esp since it's liable to be below zero in Buffalo on 12/28). Figure Pats at 12-4/13-3 with the Bills needing to win in Week 17 to go 10-6/11-5 and lock up a WC. I think you've got the Dolphins right at 4-12, and the NYJ could go anywhere from 4-12 to 9-7 and I wouldn't be able to say I was surprised. If they do go 9-7, though, at least one of those 9 would be at the Bills' expense and that likely would be enough to keep the Bills out of the playoffs for the tenth-straight year.

what do you know about taping out. I thought taping out applied to judo jiu jitsu and promotions like the ufc, but you're prob right. how exactly did those teams that got crushed by the pat tap out. your a @#$%tard.
from about 1 month ago
The Pats could have let those teams leave the field with some respect, not by passing on 4th down after being up by 20+ points and trying to pile up 50+ points every week just so they can see how great they are on ESPN high-lites.
That was last season and this season the tables will be turned.

you must not watch alot of football becouse teams in the nfl, with the exception of the bills can score points very rapidly,
To freakin bad they scored alot of points. people pay huge ticket cost buy outrages food items at game and sponsers pay big bucks not so one team can give out.
by the way give the dolfins redskins and whoever eles they clobberd credit , I dont belive they tapped out. too bad you have such little respect for them you thought they did.
and bye the way pats are going to crush your silly little bills this year, and if you dont belive it put you're money where your mouth is!

Putting my money is easy as saying "Vega".
When your up 20+ points and the team can't come back have the deceny to run the ball and clock out. Passing to pad Brady's stats were sad and to pound each team like that was equal to a martial arts fight when the player taps out and the other player keeps inflicting pain.

Patriots are there and waiting - bring it, they are ready.

www.betsportsweb has them listed at +800 to win the division which places them in second place after New England. I think New England should win the division without much trouble as long as they stay healthy. They lost a great deal of secondary players this year including Samuels which might lead to some speculation. I just don't see that offense slowing down anytime soon. If the Pats lose any of the LB's you could see problems and the possibility of the Bills creeping in, but I doubt it.
from about 1 month ago
I looked recently and the Pats were 1-8 to win, Bills 8-1 and Jets & Dolpins were 15-1.
8-1 sounds like a great deal to me!
as much as id love to see that.. this is just crazy. 12-4? Thats a 5 game improvement.. I think the Bills could be good for 9-10 this year, but thats no 12 win roster yet, even with more health. And potential top 10 offense? Woah. I love the Bills but thats just not happening for a few years.
from about 1 month ago
Remember the Bills crawled out of a really tough schedule (2nd toughest last year) and were in the playoff hunt until that brutal blizzard in cleveland.
Denver game lost to that last second FG kick, Dallas game lost to that last second FG kick,
QB Edwards learns extremely fast as he was thrown into the NFL wolves without any notice. A offense that has alot of options in short to medium range will play to his strengths and move the chains for points.
I am looking forward to going to training camp next week to see the boys in action.
the will obviously win the division and the super bowl. something the pats could not do. The bills have a way better defense then the pats. Their secondary is hands down better. their LB's are younger, faster, and stronger. And the D-line is faster and more athletic then the pats. I do have to say the pats have a better offense. But the bills have the better Rb in Marshawn"money"Lynch. And with Trent Edwards AKA Jesus at QB the bills will be a top 5 team in the AFC. But on the targeting Brady thing i dont think that the bills need to target him because the bills are to good for that and the bills will win with brady in anyways. and i think that the ghost of Tim Russert will be leader for the bills and help them become more motivated to kick the pats ass.

Hey, the patriots had a good run.
Now it's time to move over and let the Bills wreck havoc on the NFL for the next 3-4 years.

Just to let everyone know that you don't have to pull a Vince Wilfork to injure a Tom Brady.
When you put into play passion and motivation towards a team and player, you are going to eventually wear them down. I can't see Brady handling this onslaught week in and week out for the whole season.
Injuries are part of the game and the more exhausted you become the more vulnerable you are.

The Patriots will not finish 8-8 this season. They have the weapons to win the division again and to have a good season. The Bills have their own weapons, but they will only make it as a wildcard team, if there is any playoff hopes in their future, for this season, at least.
This article is hiliarious. So the Bills who were 30th in the NFL in points per game last year are suddenly going to become a top 10 offense? That won't happen. Trent Ewards is a smart guy but he's not gifted with an amazing amount of talent. The Bills offense only averaged 165 passing yards last year. No way are they even close to a top 10 offense.
haha what an awesome article. I love the Bills and that would be awesome if that actually happened. I dont know about 12-4 but with the continue development of marshawn and trent and hardy along with the core of evans, reed, peters, and dockery on offense they will be dynamic.

Okay. Whew. Calm down Nick. So many emotions running through the body...can't say them all at once. Lets do a checklist.
1) I am an ABSOLUTE Pats fan. With that being said, I agree with you about how the Bills will be improved this year. 12-5? Hell no. But improved? Hell yes. Big time Pats fan mind you.
2) This shows that I should write absurd things, because it gets big time reads. I mean, 2500+ reads for something not even close to legit? Wow. Guess what. My next article will be "Pats go winless". That's good for at least 10,000 reads.
3) You definitely wrote this as a Bills fan. It's ok. We all have opinions. Yours is way off, but your entitled to it nonetheless.
4) Wilfork aims? Check out the league. Everyone aims. Take a look at Pats vs Steelers if you don't believe me. Cowboys vs anyone (Big time Cowboys fan here too). Roy Williams makes new rules he's so good.
5) Don't mention MMA in football. I'm an avid fan, and tapping out and football don't belong in the same sentence. Ever. Don't believe me? Check out my page. I'll school you there.
6) Brady out by week 12? If Brady's out for the year by week 12, you win $100 from me. I swear.
7) Yes, you lost 2 games by last second FG's. Being a huge Cowboys fan, I watched the horrid game in my comfy New England house. I think Dallas played like a bunch of idiots. What's worse? Buffalo deserved to lose. You let the 'Boyz back into the game regardless.
8)Scott and Michael: Great stats. Loved yours the second time around even more Scott. Haha.
9) And lastly...Pats will not go 8-8 Bills B Ok Boy. If they go 8-8 or under, you win another $100 from me. Just remind me on my page with a note. I'll forget this funny/idiotic article. Want a real prediction? Of course, this is me being a fan, but it's way more realistic than this article is...Cowboys vs Pats in the Super Bowl. My thoughts. Hahaha, and a good day day dreamer.

P.S. I didn't mean any disrespect in any of my statements. I just think this article is absurd in my humble opinion. That's all. Hope nothing's taken but with a grain of salt...especially this article! Sorry. That's my bad humor again.

Good read & comments and for your money don't worry, Vegas is always open.
When a hockey player is pucnching out another player and the other guy is keeling over, player backs off.
When a NBA team os up by large number of points they rest their top players in the last few minutes.
NHL teams don't put their best players on the powerplay when they have a big lead late in the game.
Martial arts when you inflict pain to the point of submission you let them tap out.
The Patriots had huge leads and could have just run the ball and clock out, They kept commng after them.
Patriots wanted to be special last year, let the NFL brotherhood give them "special" treatment this year.
Kraft , Belichik, and Brady have spoiled you Patriot fans. I give you an 8-8 record and it's like the end of the world.
Welcome to the real NFL where the rest of the teams live.
Continue this in week 10!

I'm all for homer articles. Hell, more than half of mine are pro-Jets pieces. But to discredit the team's strengths as if they're meaningless contradicts your intention to analyze.
A strong secondary and linebacker corp are essential to league leading defensive units. And on offense, nothing happens without a strong O-Line.
In your opinion, the Jets' over-achieved in 2006. The team regressed in 2007, and remedied the weak spots from the season!
If you want to use anything to support your argument for an abysmal 2008 Jets' campaign, use the QB controversy. All the other points are null and void, as they are all improvements!
And Eric Mangini has already been guaranteed his job for next season, no matter what the outcome.
Do your homework, or edit the article to be a satire piece.

This is hilarious. Bit of a homer, are we? Just because the Bills have decent players at very key positions doesn't mean they are going to beat the Patriots. If you look closely at the Pats team, they have downgraded in only one area, the secondary. Other than that, Moss, Brady and company will dominate. You are saying that everyone will be out to get them because they racked up the score. Tell me this: who wasn't out to get them last year??? And they still went undefeated in the regular season. Enjoy another season of mediocrity, Bills fan. And you will enjoy the sure pounding the Patriots will put on you.

Every year theres a team that surprises everyone.... Browns last year, 2006 Chicago Bears, 2005 Denver Broncos, 2004 Pittsburgh Steelers.... why not us? Why not this year?
I definitely don't think the Patriots will be going 8-8 with the easiest record. Even with some splits with Jets/Bills/Dolphins...
Wins: Chiefs, Jets, Dolphins, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks, Raiders, Cardinals, Bills
Losses: Jets, Dolphins, Chargers, Broncos, Colts, Steelers, Bills
They'd have to lose every single big game on their schedule. We'll see. Hope you're right.
from about 1 month ago
The Bills in 89 went 9-7 with 5 teams in the East with the Colts. They won the AFC East in 90 with a 13-3 record which gave them a 4 game turnaround.
This year they have a schedule that is one of the easiest and their injured players are all back.
5 Games turnaround is very realistic!
from about 1 month ago
You can't possibly compare the teams in 89 and 90 to these teams as a reason why it's "possible"... The league was entirely different back then. Free Agency, offensive schemes, technology for scouting... Practically a completely different game.
The Colts were also not the "Colts" they were today. The Patriots weren't the "Patriots". The comparison doesn't make any sense I'm sorry.
Again, I admire your optimism but I'm not ready to stake any part of my reputation on it.

Bills-Will-B-OK ????
Why don't you just signal the world that you have no ability to be objective and are just a 100% Bills Homer.
Look - your team sucks and has sucked since they lost 4 super bowls in a row in the late 80's and early 90's...whenever the hell it was because even that modicum of success was ages ago.
I hope your team has a good year - I had hoped they would beat the Cowboys last season - I was rooting for them when they took all those injuries.
But don't pull your wanker out and fantasize about what the Bills will ony do in your mind and make a size 10 font mess all over my computer screen.
Be happy if the Bills go 8-8.
I won't even address your comments about the Patriots because your such a homer you would need an objective unbiased friend to translate it for you into the Bills suckjob language that you speak.
I haven't written that many articles but when you write - imagine a national audience is reading it and try and have some objectivity...all you are doing is wishful thinking. You're not writing to the tooth fairy.
from about 1 month ago
Edward, if you don't pull out your wanker once in the while then whats the use of living?
Sure I am a homer, it's in my name!
Would you have accused me of pulling a wanker if last season I wrote:
"Packer will go 12-2 before their game vs the Bears"
or
"Giants will win 10 consecutive games on the road and win Super Bowl"
You write all about the Red Sox; you know them and like them; same!
You can say Bills go 1-15 and I don't care. I follow the team closely and the buzz in the Bills fanbase is real.
As for your "Bills-Will-B-OK ????", I started posting a couple of years back after the Bills hired Marv Levy. It's been a rough patch for the Bills fanbase (you must remember the Patriots hard times?).
I knew that Levy was the right choice and right man to turn this franchise around. I decided to be positive with my username and kept it even here.
If I had just started to post today for the first time on the Bills, would I have used the Bills_Will_B_OK?
Nope!
I would use Bills_Will_Win_AFC_EAST

This is hillarious. Mark my words, the Patriots will go 14-2 in the regular season. Watch and learn.

I'll make a bet.
If the Bills win the AFC East, I will write about how much of a loser I am and will dress up like a woman and tape it on Youtube.
If the Patriots win the AFC East, I will write about how you are the worst writer in sports history, and if you don't go on Youtube with a woman's dress, All of my articles will end with "Bills Will B Ok is a horrible writer, and his understanding of sports is a shade above a 3-year old child trying to eat a raw potato."
Let the games begin.

You are correct except that I am always right!

Hope you all a Great NFL season (They all are)!
Pre-season is right around the corner and us Bills fans have alot to look forward too!
Easy on the Beer and when you buy those dozen Buffalo Wings, remember that each one you eat is a victory that we are going to nail this season.
Bills are Back!

I still think the Patriots would win this Division. 12-4 would be a safe bet. Pats fans - you're kidding yourselves if you don't think the opponents aren't going to come out and try to absolutely smack your team around. We saw how Brady was inneffective in the Super Bowl with the bad ankle and the Giants' pass rush.
If it were me guessing wins: Pats- 12. Bills-10. Jets -9. Dolphins-3.
I'd love to see Pats miss the playoffs and the Bills win the division. But I think a 10-win season and a wildcard berth is more where the Bills will be.
from about 1 month ago
You're right, but Brady doesn't have a bad ankle anymore.
I never got that smacking a team around bull. Every team tries to smack each other around. You think a team goes out there and tries to half-ass it unless its the Patriots. The Patriots juice people up, and teams are gunning for them, but how much do people think a team can do if they aren't as good.
I think the Patriots will go 11-5, and if they have a better record, they can win the Super Bowl. The team I am afraid of is San Diego. They almost dominated us in the playoffs, and their defense forced our game to the ground ( where Moroney was surprisingly good ).
My point is that I hate when teams think just because they got beat badly that other teams somehow are going to start smacking another team around. It is ironic that the team that people think have the dirtiest players are somehow going to roll over. We either have the nastiest players, or we don't.
Judging by the last 7 years, seldom do teams come out with more physical intensity than the Pats. The Giants, the Chargers, and The Ravens were good examples for 2007. But if I am giving you 3, what analysis can you give me, especially that the Pats have an easier schedule, that says that teams are going to do a J-Lo and suddenly become better.
At the end of the day, the Bills are very talented, and can keep up with the Patriots, but don't use the example of an injured QB in the Super Bowl, who is now no longer injured, as an example that a team can beat the Patriots. The Patriots lost one game last year. Just one. I think some teams have an advantage, but few and far in between, to the point that using the Superbowl is a moot point when the other 18 games are played elsewhere, and against a hopefully healthy Patriots team.
Is there anyone here who has useful analysis. Stop complaining to Pats fans. I am humble enough to say we can be beat, and will have a hard time going against the likes of the Colts and the Chargers. Not all Pats fans are stupid and stubborn, but some can analyze the game with objectivity and at least content to back it up.
Opponents can smack all they want. But I am going by history, and evidence of talent. Last time I checked, that is how you analyze who is going to win and who is going to lose.

I love Buffalo and Buffalo sports. But I want to know what you are smoking and where I can get some.

haha...pot never smelled so good...it must be. I appreciate your response Bills man, but it seems like everyone wants to get bets with you going. Redsox man is looking for a pretty funny bet, and mine is kind of a win win for u...but still I think it's just a little too unrealistic for what your looking at. I think whining about cheap shots and things of that sort is too much. If you think the Pats are the only team ever, or even recently to take cheap shots, then ur crazy. And as for your claims about giving up when up by tons already...I have a feeling your remembering that 50-some odd point game against Buffalo last year. I remember that. Beautiful game it was. To be honest, I remember when the Bills got Lawyer Milloy a few years back and crushed the Pats in similar fashion. Well, ha ha. You deserved it. Good luck this year my fellow fan. And congrats on close to a million reads in this thing. Lol. If you don't know football, you sure know how to get people razzled up.
wow... do you know ANYTHING about football? Or how to spell?
If you think the Patriots "ran up the score", were "disrespectful", and thats going to cause other teams to 'play them that much harder' and beat them, then you're out to lunch. Their secondary is hardly depleated, and they've brought in some great new talent.
And not playing a divisional game till week 8 is a good thing? If I were Buffalo, I would LOVE to play teams like Miami and the Jets early on and get some wins. Those are their easiest games of the year, not the teams like Seattle, Arizona, Jacksonville, and San Diego who they play in those first few weeks.
You are clearly a Bills fan who may not have noticed that the only teams the bills beat last year were the Jets, The Ravens, The Bengles, The Redskins, and The Mighty Dolphins. Only one of those teams was over 500 last year. They were lucky to have the record they did!
na they werent lucky-they are pretty good but theyre not winning the division this year. Really im pulling for them to do it but i dont see it this year.
you just mite be the most ignorant uneducated individual on the face of this earth if you think that your article is anything but trash. no one else in the world thinks this. you are a bills fan so that is why you think they are going to have this amazing season. but please take a second and come out of your bills world and into the real world. i dont doubt the bills at all, i think that marshawn lynch will have a standout year, but to put them at 12-4 is rediculous. the patriots will finish on top and the bills will be lucky to make the wild-card

Buffalo Bills 12-4?
What?
And your main "offensive threats" are a rookie WR and a RB that could be receiving disciplinary actions from the NFL?
And predicting Brady getting injured because you're still butthurt over the wacking the Patriots gave the Bills last season? Calling him a great QB doesn't disguise that fact at all.
Outside of the loss of Asante Samuel, the Patriots are pretty much fielding the same team as last year. Their weaknesses are much more evident now and teams will plan accordingly, but I still cannot foresee the team being outside of 12 or 13 wins.
And the point that they don't play a divisional rival until week 8? Not sure what that's getting at, but they'll likely be 3-3 after their first 6 games, and then still have to face a top tier Patriots twice, an improving Jets twice (they come out of that with at least 2 losses), and then two more tough games vs. Denver and Cleveland. The Bills could make the playoffs, but anything over 10-6 with this young, unproven roster is just silly.
this is obviously a very biased breakdown, im a pats fan but i am honest as i possibly can be. I would like to point out that even with the depletion in the secondary and LB's on walkers and canes. they wont win less than 10 for a few reasons 1 they have the easiest schedule in the league and 2 with one of the best offenses they will score a lot 3 with Lamont Jordan entering the mix at RB the pats will have 3 powerbacks at their disposal which lets them run the clock out and keep the defense off the field. I don't see the bills winning the division for a while as long as the patriots are there, but i consider them a top contender in the wild card run
about 1 month ago
Realistically, the Bills will win 9 games, assuming everything goes according to plan. The Patriots are still the class of the AFC EAST, they might slow down a bit, but slowing down in Patriots terms, means going 14 - 2 or 13-3.
Haha... that's one way to generate reads and comments. Genious!
from 26 days ago
Not my intention to generate reads, predict the AFC EAST!
I think the Pats drop off, but not 8-8. It's hard to imagine that offense not making the playoffs, even with a depleted secondary.
Fair article though.

i respect your opinion but i think you are wrong.
i am a Pat's fan , that being said . unless Brady goes down your outcome will not happen.
the bills will be a good team but they will not dethrone the pats . but i wish you luck..

If Brady goes down then what is your prediction?

Patriots 8-8? Yikes.
You sound like a pissed off Colts fan.
That's the stupidest thing ever written.
You just showed you football IQ and it's just this side of Special Needs. Goodness.

I found it interesting that my posts after this Cowboys thread was deleted afte rthe game:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sorry For Your "Lost" This Monday Night, Cowboys!"
"If any of you Cowboys fans need extra money, the Bills PLUS 10 points (at Home! LOL) is the biggest Vegas give away you will ever see!"
http://blog.dallascowboys.com/forums/t/23357.aspx
----------------------------------------------------------------
I went back to the Cowboys forum after the loss and responded to their comments and even to another thread that was vreated. I had NOTHING to be ashamed of since the Bills players all played their hearts out!
Some Cowboys fans even commented how much ballz I had to even do what I did in their forum. I noticed that one link redirecting to the Bills forum was deleted after I tried it tonight.
I will stand up to what I say and I found it very intereting that it was deleted!
Sounds like some Bills fans didn't want to hear my faith in the team!
from 26 days ago
It was only the Bills website Moderators that cleaned their threads; bashing me for "humilating" the Bill fanbase for even thinking we had a chance to beat the Cowboys.
I actually created another thread in Cowboys Forum

Congratz on your final 4 steps to victory!
1- run 2 minute drill for a TD
2- onside kick recovery
3- short out pass for FG kick & stopping clock
4- FG
If you listened to me, you have a nice wallet full of cash. Mine would have been more had my "straight up" win portion come through. Would have been sweeter!
This game was as thrilling as the Boise ST. and Oklahoma Bowl game last year. Heartbreaking loss!!!

The comments really appreciated the heart & courage of the depleted Bills team and their fan support.
This year the Bills will even take the excitement to the next level!

I just checked the Bills website for the threads that were trashing me for supporting the Bills over the Cowboys and it was deleted. My Cowbouys forum messages after the loss was "cleaned" aswell!
Seems like some people didn't like me showing them up!

This article was ranked Number Two in the most popular on the front page and it generated more then 500 reads that day. It was then completetly removed from the list..
Any reasons why?

eagles fan here. i read your article, read all the comments and you know what? glad i read it. it's nice to see someone coming and having the gall to offer the opinion that the pats will have a down year. it's bound to happen after awhile, and what better time than after super bowl loss? the bills lines are solid, they added a good receiver in the draft, lee evans is a MONSTER, the rest of the d can hold its own, and the only question is whether or not trent edwards is the answer. hopefully for you, marshawn won't break down ala Cadillac Williams. i doubt he will. def. though, i think this is a bills team to watch, and i love bold predictions like 12-4, nothin better than seeing a fan taking a stand. if they do that well, you'll be able to look back on the prediction and say, "I believed in them since the beginning." and you'll be one of the few who will. good luck to them. later

wow ummm... wow this is crap, first off to base 8 more losses of what we had last season because of "angry football players" is a bit silly.... I mean the bills are this years 49's of last year... they will just fall of the charts i say 5 wins is a good bet they will win early go 2 and 2 for the first 4 games and then something like 3 and 9 to close it out.... maybe 6 or 7 if they can hold on to the close ones this time but come on the pats added lynch your guys are screwed

Relax everyone. Things do happen that most people don't think will in the NFL. Hell, my team, the redskins. Just look at the way their old backup QB took them to the playoffs last year. Winning I think the last 5 or 6 games ... beating the giants. Now, I am not saying the Bills are going to the playoffs, but I am saying the pats are going to lose some games this year. However, I thinking 4 to 6 games. Not 8, but anything can happen.
Chris.
