Can Liverpool FC wrestle the EPL title from Old Trafford?
A big season lies ahead for Liverpool FC as they attempt to unseat rivals Manchester United at the top of the English Premier League. Even with the new signings made and the rumoured signings still to be made, Liverpool have a long season ahead.
(I have heard a whisper that Robbie Keane will sign on the dotted line and become a Liverpool player on July 30th and will be handed the famous number seven shirt.)
I believe that claiming a nineteenth English league title may still be a little above the team. The thing is Liverpool FC need to be a lot closer to the eventual winners than they have been in recent years, and I think there is a realistic chance of that happening this year.

The new signings have definitely strengthened the squad, but is it enough to win the league?
I don’t think so just yet. Alternatively, as the saying goes, football is a funny old game and stranger things than Liverpool winning the EPL have certainly happened.
Of course Manchester United and Chelsea have very strong squads and Arsenal are a very good young side, but nobody can account for injuries or loss of form of big name players and the affect this can have on a team as a whole.
I think it will take a massive effort and increased consistency from Liverpool to take the crown, but I will certainly never write them off. Remember Istanbul.
It was a shame to see Peter Crouch go, but I fully understand his reasons for leaving and wish him all the best at Portsmouth.
If Crouch and Defoe hit it off, could this potentially be the new strike force for the English national side? I see no reason why not!
I think it was time for John Arne Riise to leave too, he had gone a little stale in my opinion and hasn't really performed consistently for a couple of seasons.
Again I wish him good luck at Roma—he has left the Liverpool fans with many happy memories. All in all I would accept, as a good season, Liverpool being in touch at the top of the Premier League with five games to go, and winning the FA Cup, Champions League or both!
We all live in hope though and mine is that Liverpool can step up to the mark and take the title of Champions of England for a record nineteenth time.
