Over the past few days, numerous professional wrestling websites posted that most of the major charges against TNA wrestler Jeff Hardy were dropped. This report may have been put out to early.

District Attorney Maureen Krueger told examiner.com: "That's not so, his charges are still pending", she then said, "In fact, a new one was added."

There has been no new date established for Hardy's trial though most assume it will be sometime in July.

Hardy's drug charges are severe. He was caught with 262 Vicodin pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, and some cocaine residue. This is more than enough to warrant felony charges against the charismatic enigma.

TNA hired Hardy despite his drug charges to bring some prestige and world-class talent to their brand. It looked like a solid move a few days ago as it seemed that the charges would be dropped.

Hardy's legal problems don't just hurt TNA though. Former WWE CEO, Linda McMahon, is in the middle of a Senate race in Connecticut. She tries to avoid discussing her time with WWE with regards to the steroid topic by instead disucssing her Wellness Policy.

Hardy was arrested in September, briefly after he left WWE and a few months before he came back to TNA. Does this prove McMahon was letting her talent dope? No, but it gives the opposition plenty of ammo.

We might not understand the severity of Hardy's legal troubles. It's easy to forget when he's joined up with Mr. Anderson who gets over by referring to the fans as "assholes."

Hardy could very well be going to jail.
