Boxing Needs Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Dana White's Guidance
WBO World Welterweight Champion Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao accepted his third Fighter of the Year Award Friday night at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
“Tonight I overflow with joy and gratitude,” said Pacquiao, 31, who is rated by The Ring magazine as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world. “I am thankful that, just like Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier and other boxers, I decided to get into boxing.”
“Manny deserves to be the Fighter of the Year,” said Roger “Pit” Perron, 73, a respected boxing trainer from Brockton who now works with Mike and Rich Cappiello at their gym, Cappiello Brothers Boxing and Training. “It’s the only logical choice.”

Pacquiao, the first boxer in history to win seven world titles in seven different weight divisions, was elected in May as a Member of House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines.
“I confronted poverty by trusting God and dreaming big,” said Pacquiao, who defeated Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KOs) and Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KOs) in 2009. “I was convinced I could succeed in boxing. The boxing ring could be the breeding grounds for my dreams.”
Pacquiao’s boxing “dreams” could truly come to fruition if he and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (41-0, 25 KOs) manage to finally agree to terms on a contract that is expected to generate $30 million apiece for the two prizefighters.
“The key element, if the fight happens, we’re finding out is that Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas is Frank Sinatra times a hundred,” said Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum. “They are all licking their chops for Manny Pacquiao, especially against Floyd Mayweather, because nobody else can bring in the highest of the high-rollers.”
Arum is a scumbag who admitted during a 2000 federal trial that he is a bribing and corruptible snake.
Screw “the highest of the high-rollers.”
Pacquaio should meet Mayweather because they are the two best fighters in the world, period.
The world of boxing would be so much better if a man like Dana White was running it instead of the nefarious weasels that do, like Arum and Don King.
